Interesting that the prospectus has Jay Mitchell both returning and leaving :) From the look of it, everything points to him returning for his senior year, so it apparently was just a typo. Looks like we have a lot of size this year. Hopefully one of the juco players can come in a contribute right away. I sure hope that Heramb, Nickerson, Green, Mitchell, Whipple, and Gibson can dominate in the paint on both sides of the floor. I am tired of us being limited to jacking up three pointers because we have no inside game. Our depth should provide for great practice sessions, improving every piece of our lineup.

The key will be Heramb. I understand that he can be a beast when he wants to but his head needs to be screwed on straight. I hear that Cummings is a little cocky ... there is nothing wrong with that if you can back it up.
When we go to Notre Dame it will be interesting to see who shows up! Interesting that the conference tourney has been moved to Mercer this year ... not too shabby.

Not surprised to hear Cummings is cocky. I saw him play as a senior in hs and he was easily the most athletic player on the court and when he scored or made a good play he had that cocky walk up the court like he was an nba player. Chances are he'll be able to back it up, depending mainly on how healthy he is.

I have heard the same thing about Heramb. I never understood the concept of having a lot of talent and letting your ego/head get in the way. Heramb has the size and skills to be a dominant player, yet in previous cases it seems he has chosen not to. You can't force a player to be something that he is not. He has to choose to be great.

It seems like Cumming has the "college-ready" body to immediately contribute, but Green's heigth, length, athleticism, and natural shot blocking ability will help you guys sooner rather than later too. That tandem is a promising frontcourt; they may become a formidable frontcourt.
Also, I thought Kurtis Woods showed a great deal of promise last season. He's a big strong kid with a versatile game. He has the physical tools for sure, he just needs to become more basketball wise--as all freshman do. If he developed in the offseason, I would place him as one of the better guards in the league this year.

Thanks Bucfaithful. I think that Markeith and Ladaris could be ready, but they are also freshman who will need adjusting. Kurtis has a very solid all around game, and could turn into a great guard in this league. I think Markeith will play the wing though and not in the post. He may spend a little time at the 4, but I think the SF is his natural position. He can definitely handle it well enough on the perimeter to be a driving threat, and his shooting, while still in need of work and repetition, isn't a liability. I think our 4/5 spots will be filled with JMac, Ladaris, Heramb, Whipple, Mitchell, and Zadrian.
