Washington will meet the Memphis Grizzlies on Oct. 6 in Richmond

The Washington Wizards won't just hold their training camp in Richmond this year, they'll play an exhibition game there.

For the sixth straight year, the Wizards will hold camp at Virginia Commonwealth University's Siegel Center. This year, they'll stay around for an Oct. 6 exhibition game at 7 p.m. against the Memphis Grizzlies.

VCU and the Wizards previously concluded camp with an intrasquad scrimmage that was open to the public.

"We've enjoyed the first-class facilities and hospitality at the Siegel Center over the last five years, so we're very excited to return for training camp and officially begin the preseason there this year," said Wizards president Ernie Grunfeld. "The preseason game will be a great way for us to conclude camp and give our fans in the Richmond area the chance to see the beginning of this new era of Wizards basketball."
