NEW rule getting seriously considered by the NCAA
The Big 10/11 + the Pac 10 are unhappy that they're going unnoticed from the end of their regular season until bowl selection time, while the SEC, Big 12 & ACC have conference championships seen nationwide. Soon the NCAA will require conferences have to 12 football playing members. The consensus is:

Big 10/11 adds Notre Dame
Pac 10 adds Utah & BYU
BE adds Memphis, UCF, ECU and Marshall

8 team playoff to start which would morph into a 16 team playoff the first time a SEC team gets "screwed"...

RE: NEW rule getting seriously considered by the NCAA
You will need to post a link of some sort to verify any such claims for the NCAA does not want to get into a legal battle with the BCS IMO. The BCS in college football needs to be put in their place, but the NCAA does not want to rock the boat so to say for this is just like the NIT of years ago with the battle of the newly formed NCAA tourney and we all have seen what happen to the NIT being the top dog so to say of the basketball tournaments. This in my opinion is the same thing all over again, but this time BCS is going to be taking over the NCAA's prime time gig before we know it unless some thing is done soon.
