I have to agree. Havent been to Troy, but last year we had a great crew at NT, we always take over Malone as well.

Your excuse making is exactly why WKU will beat Middle in the very near future again.

WKU was barely traveling 60 1-AA scholarship players and beat you on your field. It doesn't matter if it was 3 or 33. That should be an embarrassment to your flagship football program! 03-lmfao

RE: Traveling Fans
We've brought over 100 to Lafayette before. Zeebart will second that.

And UL had brought over 100 to Murfreesboro.

I counted around 40 or so MT fans at a UL baseball game in Lafayette a few years back. Our old baseball coach from Sunset, La, had 22 family members come wearing blue.

You guys won, due to us being on academic probation and due to the fact that there wasn't an incredible amount known about your team the first year. You will eventually become a good team (probably), but I doubt you beat us any time soon. It could happen, but I doubt it.

RE: Traveling Fans
Why does this topic have to be about football travel? Nobody in the Belt even comes close to traveling as well as WKU for basketball. WKU's basketball fans travel better than most teams in the country minus about 10-15 programs. We took TONS of fans to Nashville last year for the Louisville game and a ton the year before for the Tennessee game (By the way, the MT crowd was pathetic that night). We always have the most fans by far at the Conference Championships. And at times during the season (ULM, UNO) our fans outnumber the home team's fans (that says almost as much about the home team than it does our travel). I understand that our tradition has a lot to do with it, but that is also a reason our football crowds are low right now, no tradition at the 1A level. However, I was at the MT game two years ago and there was no way we only brought 250 people. More like 750.

Except for the beat down you guys gave us, it was a really great day! You guys did bring a great group to the baseball series, as well!

Come on football season!!!!

Because nobody in the SBC cares about basketball other than WKU. Not to mention football practice starts in 2 weeks and football season starts in less than 6 wks.

My comment had nothing to do with the comparing the two football games in question (I was at both games). It was in response to MTSU bringing more fans to the BASKETBALL GAME (I have season tickets and I was there) in BG than WKU brought fans to the football game in M'boro.

I saw what you were talking about, I was just putting numbers on the football attendance. This past season I went to the women's game in BG, but not the men's. I had car trouble and almost got stuck in BG after the women's game so I wasn't about to go back again before taking the car to the shop. I do know we brought a pretty good crowd for the women's game, not 250-300(like I estimate you brought for football in 07) but probably about half that, somehow I doubt that we brought more than that for the men's game.

Sorry to hear you had car problems.

WKU and MTSU loves to hate each other and at the end of the day I wouldn't want it any other way. 04-cheers

I care about basketball. It's growing at North Texas. Give us a few years. We won't be at WKU levels of fan support; but it might just grow into something special here in it's own right.

False. I've gone to the tournament the last three years and WKU has probably had the most fans, but MT has been a close second.

I've been at the last three, and I'd say it wasn't a close second.

In Lafayette I would have said it was very close, but that was a very long trip for both of us, in Mobile I would definitely say it was close, we played each other in both finals and the crowds for both games were pretty close in numbers for each school. Last year in Hot Springs was probably the biggest disparity between the two fan bases, but MT was still very well represented.

How do you view that as a slap at basketball? Good grief! It was a slap at the rest of the SBC that they do not support basketball like WKU.

I swear... if I hear one more MTSU fan say we brought less than 500 fans to the football game in Smurfville I'm going to pop. I was there. I sat in the WKU section. We brought more than 300 fans... its a fact. What's more, we won that game so eat it.

Go ahead and pop, because you didn't.

Wanna defend only selling 1,000 tickets to the UT game this season?
