RE: 2010 FB Verbals
Wheatley is recruiting the Columbus area for EMU so maybe this is the first fruit of his recruiting efforts.

Jeremy Curry 6'3" OLB/DE Bolingbrook High School, IL

"I knew after my recent unofficial visit that Eastern Michigan was going to be really hard to pass up," Curry said. "So I talked things over with my family and I called up the coaches at Eastern Michigan and gave them my verbal commitment. I'm real excited about getting a chance to be a part of the recruiting class that helps turn things around for head coach Ron English and the Eagles next fall."

Curry talked about why he decided to verbal to Eastern Michigan.

"I just had a great unofficial visit and that visit was able to help answer a lot of questions I had about the school. Eastern Michigan really does have a family atmosphere which was important to me. I also know that I'll get a chance to earn some early playing time there. I was recruited as an outside linebacker prospect but the coaches also want to see where I'm at physically next year before they decide on a position for me."

RE: 2010 FB Verbals
Now we can see why so many of us were very, very happy when RE came aboard.

Unfortunately Genyk's recruiting well was running dry but we suspected that English would come in and recruit up a storm once he got a chance to get into his first full recruiting class.

I'm impressed by what I've seen so far.

This class just might rival the classes that Ron Cooper had in the mid-90s.

I'll be interested if defensive recruiting surpasses offensive. English is a defensive coach by trade, Eric Lewis is the DC and reported to be an excellent recruiter. Defensive recruits will want to play for English and Lewis.

RE: 2010 FB Verbals
this is awesome. please correct me if i'm wrong, but it always seemed in the past that we never got our verbals until october/november. i always assumed it was because players were hoping for better offers before taking ours. it sounds like now guys are excited about playing here. If i'm being a revisionist please let me know, but that's how it seems, and i love it.

RE: 2010 FB Verbals
Agree Aaron.

Recruits seem really psyched about coach English, the new facilities, etc.

According to Rivals Erbes only offer was EMU. Comes from an excellent football school. Glad to see offensive linemen coming in.

It will be interesting to see if English's connections in Cali will bring in any more players. According to this article Lewis' teammate has been offered as well but is looking for a Pac 10 offer.

Could we keep this thread restricted to kids who have already verballed to EMU. Thanks.

There will be the time when we'll have many recruits listed in one thread.

ESPN is showing a verbal to EMU from Desdan Hester a 6'1, 221 ILB from McNair High in Atlanta Georgia.

http://rivals.yahoo.com/gavarsity/footba...ster-92761

From an internet article:

• Linebacker Desdan Hester (Atlanta, Ga./McNair) had 60 tackles and 10 tackles for loss last season. The 6-1, 220-pounder attended a recent junior day at Mississippi State.

Loading up on defensive players and OL is a good thing.
