BELGRADE, Serbia - West Virginia star Da'Sean Butler made a team-leading 4-of-6 shots from behind the 3-point arc, and the United States moved into the semifinals of the world University Games here Thursday with a 96-66 rout of Bulgaria.

Team USA set its World University Games record for threes, hitting 16-of-29 as a team. Butler's 12-point game (in 13 minutes of playing time) was one of five double-figure efforts for the Americans, who face Russia on Saturday (11:30 a.m. EDT). Serbia and Israel meet in the other semifinal.

"I have played with a lot of great 3-point shooters in my time," Butler said. "But everybody on this team is really skilled in a lot of ways - ball handling, passing, rebounding, everybody is very versatile."

Washington's Quincy Pondexter led the U.S. with 15 points.
