RE: Strange day....need a laugh???
It has been a strange day. Farrah, Michael Jackson, Willie Herenton, the article about Elliot Williams and we still have to fear the Grizzlies making a draft pick. Wow!

PETA is gonna be on you for making that poor dog run CCW (counter clockwise) like that..........
Can he go CW (clockwise)???

So just a sidebar here. Why do clocks rotate that way and not the other way???

PETA can kiss my (fill in the blank). That is the most spoiled brat dog ever. And now that I think about it, no, she never runs CW around that table...hmmmm.
This is how this poor doggie spends her days

Yeah, especially those dogs that help blind people cross the street and the ones that assist police officers. Oh! Don't forget about the ones that sniff out bombs and even ones that help out the elderly houses. Stupid animals indeed!

I have a few cats myself, but dogs are fantastic. Huskies and Bassets are quite nice in my opinion. And this video is waaay too good.

Hey, I resemble that remark! Just kidding! I actually resent that remark. Dogs are smart because they live around us. Dogs learn by learning how to act when our four legged friends observe us with them in a pack manner. Watch the Dog Whisperer with Cesar on National Geographic Channel if you really want to learn how to really understand and learn how dogs actually learn behavior, good and bad.

I guarantee you my KoKo is smarter than 75% of the posters on this board. Just a quick example.....last night I went to bed with KoKo beside me with his head on his pillow, as always....well, during the night he normally moves alot and usually ends up with his head at the foot of the bed and his back feet in my face, but for some reason last night when he did his moving around thing he took his pillow with him to the foot of the bed. When I woke up and saw what he did I died out laughing....of course he looked at me like I was crazy. That is one smart dog.

LOL, I have a bumper sticker and licence plate cover that like that.
My Keeshond is smarter that your honor student....

Those huskies are just beautiful....love the mean looking puppy. When highway was younger, she had a mask like that....she looks so mean, it was funny. She is so old now, her mask turned white :(.

Overall with evolution dogs became cuter and dumber, because that's what help them to live with with humans better since they have lived together with us for thousands of years. Another show on the History Channel that really interests me, Life After People. This show tells that dogs if for some reason all the people died off, Dogs would advance and thrive and survive a long time since they are able to run long distances and adapt with us not being their anymore.

I agree with the cuter part, but not the dumber part. You have to judge on dog to dog basis. Just like people. I have seen some very smart dogs as well as not so smart.
I had a keeshond that was terrified of thunderstorms, every time it stormed and I wasn't around, he would drag all the dog beds (5 or 6) of them from all over the house, piled them up into a pyramid to build himslef a shelter. Now that was funny and smart.
I have tried to watch Life After People, just can't get into that show. To depressing I guess.

You are right, that show on the History Channel is really depressing. Overall, dogs had an advantageous mutuation which made them dumber and cuter to help them live with humans better. Work dogs are smart and can be trained easily if done earlier in life, like most dogs. Some like dalmations, let's not start their I will get some angry dalmation lovers against me. My former chihuahua learned how to climb the stairs at a two story house, and when in my back yard all the holes in my fence were not cover he would run away. Tigger would squeeze under the fence and take himself a walk to we would hear him scratching on the front door every time he would get under the fence. Ultimately, dogs have the intelligence and understanding of a two year old human child.
