Once Dennis was lost for the year, that team was basically eight deep with Jerry Pelphrey, Trazel Silvers and Darrell Jones coming off the bench to spell the starting five of Jennings, Gear, West, Talford and Rodney English.

Actaullly the Starting 5 was
Jennings
Geer
Story
Talford
Jones

With English playing more then Jones but Jones did get the start
West
Pelphery
Silvers

How could you forget Story? he was a 4 year starter.

My bad, I did forget Story. Don't know how I could do that. Anyway, so what we are saying is the "best" team in ETSU history was nine deep with Dennis making it 10 deep if he had been healthy. My point would be, however, that Jones does not play AT ALL if Dennis is healthy.

The team would have likely been 9 deep. Last year, the Bucs used Sollazzo, Hubbard, Williams and Jones effectively off the bench at the end of the year. That's nine guys playing significant minutes depending on the matchup or game.

Actually I think they were still mostly considered 8 deep. Silvers, I don't believe, was big until his sophmore year. Which would have been the year they defeated Arizona. I could be mistaken here...but this is my memory of it.

Palmer was on that team too but he also did not make an impact until later years

Not to sure about that since Trazel made the all freshman team.

I am pretty sure Story started more games then Keller did his first year. The one I am not sure about is Geer, I know he and West swapped the starting spot for most of thier careers don't know who got the most starts that year.

Geer traditionaly got the start much more than West did. West like Keller was a great sixth man. But also that first year Talford didn't always start either. So I am really not sure about Story.

But when it came tournament time West was the money man. He made the all tournament team 3 times. 1 First team and 2 second teams.

Oh god yes!

I remember West would get into a shooting slump mid february every year....and then right before the tournament he would sink a three that would always take us to double over time...either against Furman or Marshall. We always lost this game right before the tournament. But it was the shot that got West out of that slump every season. Once the tournament started....he couldn't miss.

You know we are forgetting about Micheal Woods who got more minutes than most of us realize.
