Is anything ever going to get better?
Serious question.

Everywhere I look, I see things getting worse.
Every "change" that is being proposed, I see making things get even worse.
I've always felt that Obama's appeal was based more on who he was not, or what he was against--specifically Shrub and the neocons--rather than who he was or what he was for.
I can't argue with being against Shrub and the neocons, and for that reason I'd really like to find some reason to believe that Obama will do good things.
But I just don't see it.
I don't see where anything he is doing will ultimately make things better--not the economy, not national security, not foreign policy, not health care, not energy, not even the environment.

Could somebody who sees how all this can work please enlighten me?

look at history in 50 and 100 yr snap shots, its always getting better.

You would've thought the same thing probably during the Depression or WW2 or the Carter Years.

I think the hype of the unrealistic expectations of Obama being president will make things worse because instead of people working to get out of their ruts they're waiting for Obama to do it for them.

.

They guy was voted in for his Charm, his Party Affiliation, and get angry at me all you want, his Color also.

These were the '3' Defining Attributes that got this 'Being' forced onto all of us.

And I don't care that the man is half black - - I would vote for Michael Steele or JC Watts because I believe they can DO THE JOB RIGHT and not go in there and just Lord It Over people like some King who conquered us all and we are now "his Subjects" rather than his Bosses.

He was voted in for all the wrong reasons and now he is implementing all the wrong ideas and has taken us into Real Deal Socialism in just over 3 Months ...

And most people don't seem to have a clue that we are sinking under the weight of this man.

I was there for Jimmy Carter and it was a mess beyond messes ..... Obama makes Carter look GOOOOOOOD !!!!!!

People say the World hates us .... that is a bald faced lie. Nations have always looked up to us because of the Freedoms, Democracy of the Republic, our Wealth and Prosperity, our Strength and Righteous Might that we used to Protect Nation after Nation with.

And now, in just over '3' Short Months, we have digressed to a stage in time when we were our Weakest and our most Disrespected around the World.

This is no Paranoid Delusion ... this Nation is in Deep Trouble and the people WE HIRED to make it good and right, are not listening and are herding us in for the slaughter.

I listened to a member of the British Parliament last night WARN us NOT TO GO DOWN THE ROAD WE ARE NOW ON, because it is the exact same road they were forced down and it has put them in utter ruin for generations to come.

So how do we stop it ..... the Train is going to wreck, we know that for a fact - - so what do we now do to lessen the impact since we can't stop the carnage ???

How sad for our Grand Children and Great Grandchildren to be burdened with the Sins of My Generations Foolishness at the Ballot Box.

I don't see things getting any better anytime soon.

In 18 months we will have a chance to clean out the House and Senate of the Obama enablers that do his legislative dirty work.

I've always thought that bad situations end up being for the greater good. Through the circumstances that we currently face, our nation is starting to realize the bad in both parties. Awareness of the problem is the first step to its repair.

RE: Is anything ever going to get better?
It will get better. Every so often we apparently need an economic crisis to jolt us out of la-la land where we think we can spend like drunken sailors, the guy next door has a fool-proof way to profit in the market, and we live way beyond our means. Okay, the government hasn't figured that out yet. But some citizens have. The longer it lasts the better chance we'll realize what's important. And it isn't big houses and expensive cars. Not that I want it to continue, but it probably will for a while. I'm optimistic we'll recover, at least on a certain level. But we should have done something about the deficit many years ago. When the economy turns around we can't once again forget that we have a ridiculous deficit and act like it doesn't matter.

We voted Bush in because of who he was not, and Clinton in because who he was not.

That's exactly what I told my wife 25 days into O.B.A.M.A.'s presidency. Sad thing is, it didn't take him 100 days to achieve this.

And just so you libs will know I can be objective, I thought "W" for awhile was beginning to make a run at Carter, but he managed to turn it around.

All and all, just like the Carter mistake, either O.B.A.M.A.'s party or the press (or both) will turn on him -- may be starting now with this Gitmo disaster, or something else.

Let's just hope there's another 'Reagan' that proceeds O.B.A.M.A. and cleans up the mess.

RE: Is anything ever going to get better?
one difference, Carter always came across as a do-gooder Douche bag. He never would've beat Ford if the nation wasn't pissed at Ford for pardoning Nixon, and in general pissed at Republicans at the time.

Obama is in sync with the culture and like Clinton can come off as 'cool' so to speak. Which makes him more dangerous.

Yet, look at the Vote in California the other day. Every single county in California voted against the Liberals on all the Props. A majority of the nation is now "Pro-Life" and of course the Tea Parties.

Too bad the libs in Kalif. did not realize that the Dems are financially and morally bankrupt when they voted ObamaMessiah in, 121 days ago.

I didn't vote for BO and don't like a lot of his domestic policies, but I still am in the Eternal Optimism camp. Being American lends well to staying positive about life. I do however have the unique position of having lived overseas and traveled most of the world. You think things are bad, spend a week in Burma. I do view America with rose colored glasses, and am not ashamed to admit it........

I do believe things will get better, and at minimum I won't be a person who makes things worse.

thing is most of the world was alot worse off 30 years ago than it is today, the rise of Liberal(classically) economics has lifted 100's of Millions out of Poverty around the world.

it is troublesome we are moving in the other direction at the moment, hopefully its short lived.

I don't think things would be one bit different if JM had won. He most likely would be following the same foolish path. I astounds me just how blind the right has been to its own incompetence. It the same old story...the losers always become the ***** and moaners.

The marketplace will be the one to finally pull us out of this...not some power hungry politicians.
