Thanks ARod for being a dumba$$. Your $25 mil will spend nicely on a much needed young potential ace.

RE: Kitten and KRB's Yankees' Thread
Hey KRB....
Yankees been scuffling and Toronto has been on fire, but last night was epic. Yankees had been held scoreless for 33 innings by TBJ pitching. Headley RBI double and then Beltran off the bench with a 3 run pinch hit homer in the 8th. Miller K's Revere and then Tulo with the tying and winning runs in scoring position after a 12 pitch at bat. All of it in front of a raucous crowd of almost 50,000 at "SkyDome" and winner takes 1st place on the line. Certainly had an October feel to it. This is gonna be a heck of a race to the end. 9 more games left between TOR/ NYY.

Toronto has had our number for sure. Yanks can control their own destiny. Toronto has been unconscious. Should be fun.

Wish they could play the Braves every game! Finish an all time 16 or 17- 2 at Turner Field. Swept Atlanta the last 3 games at TF same as they did the last 3 at Fulton County. Those 3 games back then in 96 meant a little more :)
Terrible situation with the guy falling and dying Sat night.

Yep we should just play them 162 games a year. Yes it was tragic about the fall.

well, they checked the 1st box- 82 wins and that guarantees a 23rd straight winning season.
On to take 1 last swing at Toronto. Down 2 in the loss column. If they can somehow get 2 of 3 like last time there, it'll make for an interesting final 10 games. Barring a major collapse, looks like they have the wild card sewn up.

Good night last night against the Mets, I hated wasting some of those runs. We will need em.

RE: Kitten and KRB's Yankees' Thread
Back in the playoffs after a way too long 2 year hiatus. 52nd postseason appearance. I just laughed when I heard them say the Dodgers are 2nd with only 29. Also win # 10,000 in franchise history. 8th team do so, but did it much faster than anyone else.
I still don't think this team is very good. They've been unwatchable at times. However, they have some good pieces and played some young guys (Severino, Bird, Refsnyder, Heathcott) who produced, so the future looks ok. Glad they're getting younger. They'll shed the Beltran and Tex contracts after next year and that's $35-40 million that will go a long way to retooling the roster.
We'll see what happens Tuesday night.
