I'm thinking UM goes 6-6 with trip to Motor city bowl + RR feeling some heat...As for Paulus, maybe he should just play football at DUke next fall...wouldn't he need to sit out a year if he goes to UM...heck if his goal is the nfl, he should want to redshirt for a full year to get back into football mode and play qb somewhere in 2010.

He's also been allowed to tryout at Duke for a spot as a WR. Cutcliffe figures he's been away from the QB position for too long and might not have the arm strength for the Duke offense.

No, he wouldn't have to sit a year. He can't redshirt and then play, he only has one year of eligibility left.

UM has scholarships open and not a whole lot of depth at QB. Paulus was pretty highly rated as a QB coming out of HS. If I was Michigan I would bring him in. Worst case is that he rides the bench for the year and even then he brings some leadership qualities to a team that is very young.

Because he doesn't want a QB that will flop every time he sees someone coming at him.

Coach Marrone is being quiet on the situation. Paulus mentioned SU and Mich. as the 2 schools that he wanted to play for. He would not have mentioned SU in my opinion, if he was not already incontact with someone at the program. I'm not sure this would be good for SU or not. We do have one qb that is not to bad, and another stude who will report in August named Charley Loeb.
