RE: CUSA back in the Hawaii bowl
NOTHING has been said anywhere about the ACC and GMAC bowl since may of last year. These things develop a life of their own on message boards with often not a drop of truth. A good example is the "Big east split." There never really was an issue of the big East split. It was 100% made up on message boards.

You may want to read the Big East papers. The idea of a split was very much on the table going back to 2003.

One of the reasons there has not been a split was out of courtsey to the basketball playing schools. In order for a conference to maintain its basketball units, at least 8 members have to be together during the previous 6 seasons.
Thus, the basketball schools added DePaul and Marquette to bring their total up to 8 for security in the event of a split. Once deciding on a 16 team configuration, Big East schools agreed to stick together at least 5 more years or until 2010 once all of the new members are assimilated.
With Big East maintaining its BCS bid and being very successful in Men's Basketball the momentum to split has been slowed. Ultimately though I think economics will drive a split.

RE: CUSA back in the Hawaii bowl
That is pure nonsense. When options are listed ALL are listed. That DOES NOT mean they were ever seriously considered.
Nobody does anything that big as a courtsey Airport. This is what happens when we have message boards dominated by 19 and 20 year old kids who do not know anything. "The momentum to split" is just a phrase you made up out of thin air, there is no such thing nor do you present ANY evidence that there is or ever was.
