To add some fodder to the off-season discussions, I wanted to speculate, perhaps wildly, about a potential transfer. Let me put a disclaimer on this post by saying that this simply for the purposes of discussion. I hesitated to even post this because of the source, namely, someone who said "I heard..." I take "I heard's..." with a grain of salt. I don't believe it, but I thought it be fun to speculate a little.

Someone told me (stay with me here) that Terrence Oglesby is unhappy at Clemson and was thinking about transferring to ETSU. Now, whether or not there's any veracity to this claim, it is somewhat plausible (as opposed to Tyler Zeller transferring here). First, Oblesby is from Cleveland, TN. Perhaps he wants to come "home". Second, he played with CP, Hamlin, and Isiah last summer in the Rocky Top League. Maybe he made some friendships with these guys?

To be clear, I don't buy this. At least on the surface, he's getting plenty of playing time at Clemson, plays in the ACC, would have to sit out a year (we don't have a scholly available) and is still a short drive from his hometown of Cleveland.

I don't know much about him, other than he's a tremendous outside shooter with great range. However, I certainly would take him in a heartbeat.

Go mention it on clemson's message board and see what happens. Isnt that the white kid who threw the cheap shot elbow and got thrown out of the ncaa tourny and clemson lost. maybe he never wants to wear the uniform again, i wouldnt want to wear that crap

Yes he is the one that threw the elbow. But I wouldn't say he threw it...more like pushed it into the guy. It was flagrant no doubt about it. But he was frustrated and I don't think he is a bad kid. It even looked like he was embarrassed having to leave the floor. Anyway, I would welcome him with open arms. I saw him in the RTBL and he can simply fill it up.

BTW, how does it work when transferring? I assume if a player was on a full ride scholarship and he transferred, then he would have to pay his own way while he sat out at the other school regardless if the new school had a scholarship or not?

Terrence Oglesby 6'2 190 Guard 13.2 PPG 38.8 3PT% 84.5 FT% started 31 of 32 games for Clemson.
He will be an upcoming Junior. Sounds great, if it actually occurs.

No transfers can get a scholarship. Tubbs for example. Prop kids like Pigram was do have to pay for thier first year until they make the grades. Then they can get a scholarship and their year back.

Is your source a good source Faithful. I know we did recruit him. If he is wanting out of Clemson it cannot be for playing time as he gets plenty of it.

Wow, from reading their board, it looks like there's some legs to this rumor. Someone even said that he posted on Facebook that he is NOT transferring to ETSU.

I just added T.O as a friend on facebook and messaged him asking if he will be transferring next semester and if he looks forward to playing at ETSU. I don't expect a reply, but it would be awesome if he replied. "can't wait".

One of my friends here at ETSU grew up with Terrence, I asked for him to talk to Terrence and give him a word of encouragment for a transfer.
