Like I siad the silver lining Flynn will probablly be back next season. JB has a special talent in Johhny Flynn, next year SU should be preseaon Big East #1 and expected to make a Final Four run.

PS: Cubanbull do want to talk football, whats the over/under your bulls squeezing the orange FB team again?

It will be interesting we play you guys after FSU and is our first conference game and is also away. i will tell you our defense should be very good. We are loaded up front and with the ex-Cincy DC as our new DC you can expect an even more aggressive defense.
Our big ? is the OLine where we are replacing 4 starters but we got a couple of JUCOS and a transfer from FSU coming in that are better players. If the oline gets it going we will be tough to beat.
Our schedule works well with three easy games that should allow new players to get in synch and then the big test in Tallahassee before we go to Cuse.
By the way right now Im thinking of going up there for that one.

So I count USF as an automatic lost for SU. SU has PSU,Minn and Northwestern 3 loses plus USF,Cincy that is 5 loses. i will be happy if we can beat Rutgers,Uconn,UofL and split Pitt/WVU. I'm so fudging upset I'm talking SU football. Who am I joking I want a Big East championship and a BCS bid to make me feel good

I think it's HOW Syracuse lost which bothers me.

As I said in another thread, Oklahoma got run out of the gym last year by Louisville. They seem to have recovered fine. It's no disgrace. Sh!t happens.

Cheers,
Neil

Agreed. It's not a disgrace to lose in the sweet 16. And I agree that Oklahoma is a legit #1 seed. I was just expecting Syracuse to play with more competitive fire tonight.

That is why I'm so upset they came out there so lifeless and didn't even try fight OU. I've seen SU play with fire in there belly how else can a team beat #1 seed Uconn in 6 OTs or go into Memphis and beat the tigers. SU besides Flynn and Rautens were not in the game.

You lost because your shooters in the 1st half couldn't put the ball into an ocean. Both Devendorf and Rautlin were ice cold and they got their open looks in the 1st half. I am surprised they shot so bad. Usually at least one of them will be on. After that, you simply did not put any pressure on any of the OU shooters. OU just happened to shot lights out from the 3. All this spelled total disaster from the start.

As for football, SU won't beat UCONN next year at the Rent.

RE: Whats wrong with Devendorf?
Oklahoma is not a legit number #1/ They were just not that good. Syracuse played like crap and stayed in the game but eventually Okl got confident and tired of the BS and blew the terrible Cuse team out. Syracuse did not come to this game to play like they even wanted to win.

I blame Boeheim because it is his job to get his team up for the game. To get them ready. In all the interviews I only heard him talking about how great Griffin was and how they were a legit top team in the country. I wonder if he told his team this also. I'd think, behind closed doors, he'd tell them we are going to kick these clowns asses.

Syracuse came out like they were expecting something better than Okl really had to offer. They were tight. But Griffin is not a true big man. He plays like a taller small forward. Inside/outside Syracuse just offered nothing tonight. They could have just come home because they forfeited that game.

I have to agree with you. This is not the same CUSE team that took UCONN to 6 OTs. I was hoping Flynn would bail them out but he got kicked hard by Griffin. Not sure this OU team can beat UNC.

As for Griffin, I realize he is a monster for college and is dominating. In the pros, he better learn to knock that 12-18 footer consistently if he wants to be a good PF or he will be just a average PF. He won't get many inside look with many 7 footers patrolling the paint. If I am GM, I seriously would consider Thabeet at 7'3" a bit more just due to his size.

If he doesnt wake up Cuse has no shot

i'm actually surprised they made it this far the cuse always seems to ride the be tourney success into a higher seed than they deserve, but fact is they went 0-5 against the top 4 teams in the big east (not counting the tourney where they seem to turn into another team). nova was the team that should have been placed in the unc bracket as they beat the cuse twice in the reg season and in my mind was cleary the number 4 team in the be.

Nova was rightfully considered the 4th best team in the Big East by all - including the selection committee. SU was the lowest of the 3 seeds. The committee is only obligated to keep the Top 3 teams from each conference in separate brackets. The rest get bounced around based upon a lot of factors.

As the lowest of the three seeds, we should have been in the West bracket, but neither Kansas nor Mizzou could go in the South region (Oklahoma was already there). Since they are both Midwest teams one would have to go to the Midwest which meant one of them would have to wind up in the East or West. The committee thought it would make more sense for the third one to wind up in the West region geographically.

So it came down to Nova and SU between the East and the South so the committee rewarded the higher #3 Nova with the more beneficial placement in the East, placing SU in the South.

Believe me, Boeheim and SU fans would much rather have faced Duke in the Sweet 16 than a legit #1 seed Oklahoma.

Cheers,
Neil

good point and i stand corrected, still it would've been nice to give our top 4 teams a route to the final four without having to face each other before than.

RE: Whats wrong with Devendorf?
Oklahoma deserved a #1 seed more than Carolina did. We'll see that definitively shortly...
