Seth Curry (Steph's younger brother) to transfer from Liberty
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=4012928

1) would we have enough scholarships to offer him?
2) would he consider us?

dude averaged 20 a game as a freshman and said he wanted to face stronger teams.

thoughts?

RE: Seth Curry (Steph's younger brother) to transfer from Liberty
First, I would love to have him, but I don't think he'd consider us. I think we're a far better program than Liberty, but the ASUN and the Big South are a wash in my opinion. As youngbuc said, I could see VaTech offering him. Like youngbuc said, Greenburg may feel political pressure to offer Curry after the monumental mistake of not offering the elder Curry.

I think this is risky on Seth's part. I understand his rationale, but there's no gurantee that he'll get any more publicity at a bigger school/conference; there's even a possibility that he won't start or that his PT will be decreased. If he wants to make it to 'The League', then I think he has as good of a chance dominating the Big South, just as the Stephen has dominated the SOCON. If you can play, NBA teams will take notice. Kevin Martin played for a terrible Western Carolina and was taken in the first round. His name escapes me, but there's a player for UT-Martin that is also projected to go to the NBA next year.

According to the Lynchburg, Virginia newspaper Seth's new conference is definitely not the ASun but it does start with an A and end with a C. Checking Roanoke paper VT doesn't seem to have any scholarships left.

I would be curious to know why he ended up at Liberty to start with?

His family is very religious.

For possible destinations I've heard Wake and NC State.

RE: Seth Curry (Steph's younger brother) to transfer from Liberty
he's got two major thoughts. Where can he go and get to the dance? We're looking pretty good in that respect. Where can he go and start? We look pretty good in that respect. Where can he go with a coach with experience bringing players to the dance and a good pedigree? We look good in that respect. Virginia Tech? Are they going to the dance in their conference? Not a chance. I think we would be a good choice for him.

Guys, read his statement. He wants to go to a better conference and a team that has better players so he is not getting double teamed all of the time. He doesn't want to come here and we do not have a scholarship to give anyways. He clearly stated that he wants to go to the ACC.

Another "Mid-Major" is not the type of school he wants, if I was a betting man I`d say NC State

03-lmfao Lemme make a little prediction...Seth Curry *ain't* gonna sit out a year to play at ETSU. It will not happen. He can get the same level of competition where he is now. I do remember a time when that wasn't the case, but luckily we have "advanced" the program from those dark days.

I never thought Conley had that quick first step that K Mart from WC had. Not as big a threat.

I agree with that. He was a little bit more "defendable". That being said, as I recall he didn't have a smooth transition to Mizzou. He was definitely a talent; could slash and shoot, but like I said before, I've never seen a quicker first step in college basketball than Martin's.

WC has had some scorers over the years. If they ever had 2 of those at once they would have been unstoppable.

But there is only one ball.

Frankie King ( I think that was his name) was a heck of a player too.

Quote:Dell Curry said in a Friday phone conversation that more than 30 Division I programs already have called to inquire about his younger son, "all of them high-major," he said.

"I thought the response would be good, but it's been overwhelming."

The ACC schools that have inquired about the younger Curry are Tech, Clemson, Wake Forest, Duke and North Carolina State.
Yeah you can pretty much hang up him coming to ETSU
