A little bit about Tarik Black

Lots of offers and I'm Not sure we stand a chance but it's a nice effort.

Unless he is related to someone at NIU, we have no chance. He has offers from some of the Big boys.

I just like that there making the effort to try and land one of the bigger names....speaking of that central michigan might be getting one of the better players in the country in football because his scholarship got revoked from georgia....sometimes taking a chance on a kid may payoff

Hell we could send scholarship offers to every top 100 BBall Recruit. I just don't want to spend a lot of money and energy chasing a player that has little interest in coming to NIU.

RE: Basketball Recruiting
The kid who finished 2nd Saturday was the kid from Robinson (maroon and white uniform) who is going to Illinois..... Myers Leonard. I think the kid from Sandburg (white with purple trim maybe?) got 3rd or 4th with the class 1A kid. How did this topic get started in a thread called "Basketball Recruiting"?

Is he an under the radar guy. They talked to him and he stated he busted his but all summer to get ready for this season. At 6'7" and great hops, is this the type of player you start watching.

He seemed very athletic.

RE: Basketball Recruiting
Doesn't recruitment naturally open doors to dialogue about this past weekends HS basketball individual talent demonstrated in a more novel setting?

DJ Bennett from Sandburg would seem to be a late bloomer not previously on alot of major radars - until now.
He finished FIRST Friday nite in 4A slam dunk FINALS with an awesome performance but did not do as well Saturday in the King of the Hill competition having one contestant from each of the four classes.

If DJ repeated his Fri performance on Saturday, he could have been King of the Hill IMO. He looked like he was trying too hard early to be spectacular and fell too far behind given the time constraints.

I would sign him for NIU in a heartbeat.
