And why do we have to have "a certain number of that type of game" on our schedule..? If we want to be seriously considered for anything other than a buy-in tournament, we shouldn't be playing teams like this.

You need to have a few games on the schedule of teams you think you can beat, so that you can get your reserves a little PT, if for no other reason. And, the OVC is not the worst conference in the country. They have some pretty fair teams. Austin Peay has been pretty good. Martin is pretty good this year.

Then we need to play Austin Peay and/or Martin. Not SEMO.

AP and UTM don't have coaches that we all loved to hate.

Does either the NCAA or the NIT committees consider that we played coaches we love to hate..? Doubt it.

Well, I guess we could schedule UConn every week and go 0-fer in non-conference. That might impress them, reckon?

I sometimes think those committees don't realize we exist. Or maybe they think we're a D2 team.03-banghead

University of Arkansas of Last Resort.

But, we may be going to some kind of a tournament this year. We are Arkansas' Last Resort this season, anyway.

No, but we could take a clue from WKU. Their RPI is 43 with a 125 SOS. They schedule teams that challenge them.

We are at 92 and 220.

If that's the case, UAPB should be in the Top Ten, shouldn't they?01-lauramac2

When you are making out a schedule you want to try and do something there that will appeal to recruits. A tournament here or there, a BCS school, or a west or east coast swing. If I were a recruit I would be more interested in a plane ride to Cali than a bus ride to Cape Girardeau. I say we stay away from SEMO for the time being. Too much of an unknown right now and with their high RPI I think we have more to lose than gain by playing that school. Dickey would want to beat UALR just as badly as we would want to beat them. A SEMO win over UALR would look really good on their resume.

Yeh, I hear the kids really enjoy those Cali trips. They get to go to the beach, catch a Lakers game, and all the other activities there is to be had in Cali. Also playing the Florida teams is good for us too because the kids usually get a chance to get some sunshine and hit the beach in the winter time. I hope we keep scheduling southern Cali schools...there are several we can chose to play from the Big West, Pac-10, and WCC.
