Question for those in the know
Next season, UNF and our beloved Kennesaw State Owls will be eligible for the tournament, that being said, will the tourney expand to nine teams? Eight teams? I for one am I fan of EVERY TEAM playing in the conference tournament and having byes. Would the A-Sun consider having opening round games being played at the home sites of the higher seeded teams on like the Monday or Tuesday of the tourney, then the winners all advance to a neutral site somewhere?

I am not in the know but I can tell you that is highly unlikely. I am in total agreement with you but the A-sun doesn't know how to run a tournament. Even dogs know this..

RE: Question for those in the know
I feel like I'm alone in saying I would not want to see every team make the tournament. I think it keeps it interesting to have a few teams missing it.

RE: Question for those in the know
The tournament will have 8 teams in it for 2010 and 2011. FGCU, Upstate and whoever finishes last will not be in it. When FGCU and Upstate get eligible in the 2012 season maybe the league will change it up but it is 8 teams for the next 2 years.

RE: Question for those in the know
I remember when the Big East used to have an 8-9 game (when there were only nine teams in the Big East).

The reason the A-Sun doesn't do it is easy, however. It's a lot easier drawing a crowd for, say, Seton Hall v. UConn at Madison Square Garden than Stetson vs. KSU hundreds of miles from their home.

RE: Question for those in the know
Perhaps...but there are mid/low major leagues out there that do 8-9 games when they won't draw anything. America East and WAC off the top of my head. Nobody's going to go watch Maine play Hartford in Albany, NY or Hawai'i play Fresno State in Reno, NV I'm sure.

I hope they announce soon where the A-Sun tournament will be for next year. Would like to see it at Jacksonville Arena or Mercer.

Geographically, the Atlanta area would be the most logical. But how big is Kennesaw's arena?

They should have an 8/9 play in game - you could schedule it on Wednesday and have it the same day as some of the women's games. I think all of the eligible teams should get a chance in the tournament.

I 100 percent agree with you Camel. Every team should have a chance to make a run in the tournament, and if the tourney is in Atlanta or that area then it shouldn't be at Kennesaw and be moved to a neutral site.

My biggest gripe is combining it with the women's games. It screws up my day

RE: Question for those in the know
It's done to try and get people to actually go to the women's tourney. It's not a bad deal. One of my favorite all time moments was at Maclellan Gym in Chattanooga when the drummer made fun of the UT-C player's weave while she was shooting a free throw.

Since ETSU no longer has a marching band, isn't the pep band more of a community band made up of University High students, ETSU students and a few interested folks from the community?

RE: Question for those in the know
We have a music department, but apparently people over in the music department dont get along with our band director, so they dont allow our best music major students to play in the band. Dont you just love ETSU?
