They vote based on the last game not on whole body of work. UCONN's whole body of work is better than UL anyway you look at it.
Win tomorrow and you got a chance to prove me wrong. That being said, I fully expect my Huskies to go to the final game.
No they voted that way because we have the Nations longest winning streak. They voted that way because our overall SOS was better-(UofL was 12th, UConn was 30th according to the RPI) and we along with Villanova can beat Pittsburgh while a certain team in Storrs, Connecticut can't.
Since January 1 Louisville is 23-2, won the BIG EAST Regular Season title, won the BIG EAST Tournament by an average of 14 ppg over Providence who beat Pitt the week before, Villanova won is now in the Final Four and Syracuse who happened to beat you in the BET.
BTW, if we happen to get past Michigan State it is really going to be hard for UConn to beat a Rick Pitino team with a week to prepare. Nobody is better with that much time then him.
We still kick the crap out of your team on your home floor. You gonna tell about that SOS crap again? You want to break down entire body of wins and losses? No contest.
Wait until after next week. Go ahead and believe whatever, but I will take Calhoun over Pitino any day of the week. I am sure UL fans would take Rick so we will find out who will win next week. We are already there, you have to get there first.
And Georgetown kicked the crap out of you @ home, didn't mean they were better. Stuff happens. Memphis in our last Final Four season beat us by 17 @ home and they did not even make the NIT that year. Again stuff happens. Hell in Kentucky last championship season we beat them in Rupp Arena and we had a overall losing record that year.
Every game is different but if you truly want to go by the body of work it is very simple. At the end of the year our RPI was higher, our RPI SOS was better and the NCAA Selection committee gave us the Number 1 overall seed. No biases were used, they went with the raw number and that was their conclusion.
BTW, nobody had more wins against the RPI Top 50 then Louisville. We went 9-3. Western Kentucky finished the year 44th in the Final RPI, Minnesota finished 38th in the Final RPI but we get ripped for those defeats to what ended up being quality NCAA teams with wins in the tournament.

We still beat your butt. You still have way worse losses than UCONN did.
Just for your FYI and those stupid RPI rankings. Here is the total at end of the year:

According to this, Duke is the #1 RPI team with the #1 SOS.
Is Duke the #1 team or even close to it? I rest my case. End of discussion.
I will tell you what, I just think this UCONN team is a better overall team with better talent. Just make sure you guys beat MSU and we get to settle this on the court.
