1. Congrats on making it to the Final Four and hopefully we will see you next Saturday in the Motor City.

2. I guess we proved our point, we are the BIG EAST Champions and hopefully by next Monday the National Champions as well. As of right now we are the Number 1 team in the country and had the biggest blowout in the Sweet Sixteen in over 40 years.

If you get past MSU and beat UCONN, you are the BE champ. That being said, my money is on the Huskies even without Dyson.

As for UL07 - I hope you did not bet your house on Memphis LOL. Yeah don't think I forgot about that with you picking Memphis to the Final 4. Nice pick there.

Get there first before you crow. Since B12 is also good this year, UCONN just took out two of their top teams. You are playing MSU from the weak B10 so it should be easy. UCONN has took out both B10 and B12 tournament winners. What is it with you guys, how do you manage to get the easiest path to everything?

BTW, it was a nice win against an over matched Arizona, but Zona is no UCONN LOL.

Nah, no need to beat MSU we are the BIG EAST Champs since we have the trophy lol 05-stirthepot. 19-2 in BIG EAST playing and winning every game in the BET by double digits can make you a lil cocky. 04-rock

Hopefully we will take care of business tomorrow and have once again a 3/4 BIG EAST Invitational. Just accept the fact that we are the Regular Season and Post Season Champs AND we can beat Pittsburgh. 05-stirthepot

BTW, I picked UConn not Memphis in my bracket. You got me confused with another UofL fan. My finals were Louisville over Pitt with UNC the other Final Four team.

Maize - you are cool I don't have any issue with you LOL. The comment was for UL07. He knows what I am talking about.

Let's face it, you guys got easy path to the final 8 so far. It would be nice to play a #12 seed to get the final 8 but UCONN had to chop down the B10 tournament winner.

If you win tomorrow, we will meet again. I really don't care about the BET title. BE regular season champ is not a true champ because of the unbalanced schedule and there is nothing any UL fans can do to convince me otherwise. The only title I care about is the one from Detriot.

I like our chances with our boys and our coach, who is undefeated in the Final 4.

1. I don't bet on sports so I haven't lost a dime on anyone so far.

2. I never picked Memphis to the Final Four. Every bracket I filled out, I had UConn beating them. As it turns out, they didn't end up playing UConn but I seriously doubt anyone got every pick right in this year's tournament.

When did MSU join the Big East again? Pretty sure the two Big East trophies sitting in our trophy case say you are wrong.

We don't have an easy path to recruiting...maybe we should ask the Huskies for help in that area? On second thought, never mind. LoL 03-lmfao

I'll admit that that is a pretty funny picture Murph. Though if we are going to bring Mr. Calhoun into this, I prefer his crazy gunslinger impersonation

For the record, I don't have a problem with the vast majority of UConn posters on this board. I just don't like homers who can't give props to other teams or even acknowledge that maybe they were wrong. I think Louisville has done more than enough this year (elite Eight and possible final four, BE regular season champions, and BE tournament champions) to prove they belong in the discussion alongside UConn and Pitt

For the record, I never once said UL is not a great team. You are just not the best team in the BE. I think the analysis is pretty objective. Let's face it, you had easier path to the regular season title. You got to win the BET against a Cuse team that played a zillion OTs. Even in the NCAA tournament, you had by far the easiest path so far comparing to all the other BE teams.

You belong in the same discussion as UCONN and Pitt, you are not better than either. If you beat UCONN next week, then you are better.

As for recruiting, I won't be so quick to use that stupid analysis. I am sure if someone looked hard enough there will be plenty of skeleton in UL's recruiting history. The stuff they have accused UCONN of doing is pretty common across the entire NCAA. It is just a matter who is looking at your program and when.

Winning by double digits at Syracuse and beating Final Four team Villanova @ Nova and then beating them again in the BET by 14 is more then enough.

UConn, Pitt, Syracuse and Nova are damn good but in the end we are the CHAMPIONS of the BIG EAST. But as John Thompson said back in 84 the nets of the BIG EAST are not the ones I want right now. What I want is our 3rd NCAA Title.

Quote:You belong in the same discussion as UCONN and Pitt, you are not better than either. If you beat UCONN next week, then you are better.

Well the Coaches and Media say otherwise since we ended the year as Number 1 and the NCAA Selection Committee said otherwise as well since they made us the Number 1 overall seed.

They vote based on the last game not on whole body of work. UCONN's whole body of work is better than UL anyway you look at it.

Win tomorrow and you got a chance to prove me wrong. That being said, I fully expect my Huskies to go to the final game.

No they voted that way because we have the Nations longest winning streak for a school from a major conference-(sorry C-USA doesn't count Memphis). They voted that way because our overall SOS was better-(UofL was 12th, UConn was 30th according to the RPI) and we along with Villanova can beat Pittsburgh while a certain team in Storrs, Connecticut can't. 05-stirthepot

Since January 1 Louisville is 23-2, won the BIG EAST Regular Season title, won the BIG EAST Tournament by an average of 14 ppg over Providence who beat Pitt the week before, Villanova won is now in the Final Four and Syracuse who happened to beat you in the BET.

BTW, if we happen to get past Michigan State it is really going to be hard for UConn to beat a Rick Pitino team with a week to prepare. Nobody is better with that much time then him.

We still kick the crap out of your team on your home floor. You gonna tell about that SOS crap again? You want to break down entire body of wins and losses? No contest.

Wait until after next week. Go ahead and believe whatever, but I will take Calhoun over Pitino any day of the week. I am sure UL fans would take Rick so we will find out who will win next week. We are already there, you have to get there first.

And Georgetown kicked the crap out of you @ home, didn't mean they were better. Stuff happens. Memphis in our last Final Four season beat us by 17 @ home and they did not even make the NIT that year. Again stuff happens. Hell in Kentucky last championship season we beat them in Rupp Arena and we had a overall losing record that year.

Every game is different but if you truly want to go by the body of work it is very simple. At the end of the year our RPI was higher, our RPI SOS was better and the NCAA Selection committee gave us the Number 1 overall seed. No biases were used, they went with the raw number and that was their conclusion.

BTW, nobody had more wins against the RPI Top 50 then Louisville. We went 9-3. Western Kentucky finished the year 44th in the Final RPI, Minnesota finished 38th in the Final RPI but we get ripped for those defeats to what ended up being quality NCAA teams with wins in the tournament.

We still beat your butt. You still have way worse losses than UCONN did.

Just for your FYI and those stupid RPI rankings. Here is the total at end of the year:

Rk School W-L RPI SOS Rk SOS Conf Conf W-L
Up 2 From Last Week 1 Duke 28-6 0.6677 1 0.6086 Acc 14-5
Down 1 From Last Week 2 Pittsburgh 27-4 0.6670 8 0.5928 Bige 15-4
Down 1 From Last Week 3 North Carolina 27-4 0.6531 22 0.5801 Acc 14-4
Up 5 From Last Week 4 Louisville 28-5 0.6463 12 0.5880 Bige 19-2
5 Oklahoma 27-5 0.6459 26 0.5778 Big12 13-4
6 Michigan St. 26-6 0.6449 6 0.5949 Big10 16-4
7 Memphis 31-3 0.6440 49 0.5583 Cusa 19-0
Down 4 From Last Week 8 Connecticut 27-4 0.6433 30 0.5742 Bige 15-4
Up 2 From Last Week 9 Utah 24-8 0.6320 23 0.5790 Mwest 15-4
Up 2 From Last Week 10 Missouri 27-6 0.6310 38 0.5632 Big12 15-4

According to this, Duke is the #1 RPI team with the #1 SOS.

Is Duke the #1 team or even close to it? I rest my case. End of discussion.

I will tell you what, I just think this UCONN team is a better overall team with better talent. Just make sure you guys beat MSU and we get to settle this on the court.

According to this, Duke is the #1 RPI team with the #1 SOS.

Is Duke the #1 team or even close to it? I rest my case. End of discussion.

I will tell you what, I just think this UCONN team is a better overall team with better talent. Just make sure you guys beat MSU and we get to settle this on the court.

1. You are the one that brought out the body of work. According to the "body of work" used by the NCAA our is better. That is why we are the Number 1 overall seed.

2. Whether you like it or not we are the BIG EAST Champs. After we won the Regular Season title you said it would be proven in the BET won was the true Champ. Guess what we won that too. It is not our fault you could not handle your business.

3. For the record we are still the consensus NUMBER 1 team in the country and we have the trophy in our basketball offices.
