OVC Officials
wow the OVC must be hard up for officials... The 3 guys they sent to Kent tonight

Official #1 has called 4 D1 games over 3 years

Official #2 has called 17 D1 games over 3 years

and drumroll please....

official #3's 3rd game in his first season

Is there really that big of a shortage of officials?

You never want to note the refs, but those four (or even six) straight calls late in the second half were pretty bad. Back-to-back-to-back-to-back also made it look worse than it really was.

Shows toughness for a team to fight through that, however.

Nice find, 7Links. I'm generally not one to complain about the refs -- unlike a few others around my seats who scream after every call -- but last night's were especially bad. Like 333 said above, that run of several bad calls late in the second half was a pretty disastrous stretch of officiating. You could see some of the Flashes, especially Chris & Jordan, getting upset, but they kept their composure.

RE: OVC Officials
This was the first time that I had ever seen officals not want to accept the players shaking their hands or fist (whatever that is called). I thought I saw the lead offical say that he wouldn't do it and the last three Kent players didn't even attempt to go to the officials. From my point of view I thought they acted arrogant but I will have to addmit, several times when MSU ' coach was trying to get their attention, they walked away and wouldn't even acknowledge his comments.

I would like to have 35 on our team for rebounding. He sure could get up for the rebounds and his put back in the second half was so quick I wasn't sure what happened !!!!!!!

Bball72-
I noticed the handshake bit too. I thought it was odd. Even the starters on my 7th grade daughter's team shake hands with the refs prior to the start of the game. I think shaking hands prior to the contest is a sign of good sportsmanship. This may explain why the OVC refs were reluctant to shake hands.
