OK, I have been critical of this team and declared them D.O.A.
However I think there still maybe a glowing ember; must win today and beat ETSU. This team can win the A Sun if they set their collective minds to the task. 04-rock

Down 4 at the half; good second half and a 4 point Camel win. Perhaps not as crisp as expected but we'll take the win and move on.

RE: vs. USC Upstate
Well USC Up likes to play sloppy, slow down, ugly basketball, so this kind of win is expected. I also won't drink the kool-aid on this team just yet, because AT MOST they win 1 game in the ASun tourney. I don't think they win any, esp. if they play ETSU or Belmont - but I will never say they could win the whole ASun tourney simply based off the premise that "we don't know who we're gonna get from game to game - if they put it all together, they could win it!" Hope they can win 2 more games, get to 11, and build some confidence to give them the best shot in the tourney.

I haven't seen ETSU, but we get them them this week which will be a good. I like our chances against Belmont based on the meltdown game.

We seem to play (to a degree) to the level of our competition.

RE: vs. USC Upstate
The Upstate game was one of the most sloppy and poorly officiated games I have witnessed in my life.

Upstate's big center had one of our guys in the headlock and no foul was called.

Our play was not very good on Saturday. We let Upstate dictate the pace up until the last 8 minutes or so when we dictated the pace and we ended up making up the deficit and winning by four.

If we had been playing a talented team on Saturday we would have lost big. We have got to have much more effort against ETSU. I think we can beat them but it depends on what Campbell team shows up. The one that played the last 3 minutes at Belmont and the first 32 of the game against Upstate or the team that took it to Jacksonville for the whole game and Belmont for 36 minutes. That team that did the latter can beat anybody in this conference at any time on any court. I hope that team shows up for the next two games and especially in the tournament. THe other team is DOA.

RE: vs. USC Upstate
Yesterday's game was definitely poorly officiated. I think campbell only attempted 14 free throws yesterday; there have been games where jrod has attempted more than 14 free throws himself. Campbell got away with some travels yesterday, and usc upstate's big man had some uncalled loose-ball fouls. I thought the game was pretty physical, but the refs just didnt make any calls on either side.

I hope we continue to play Chris Reynolds. I don't know if he is truly a "big man" like the way Laing uses him, but he has shown signs that he could be good. Him and Merthie are the future of this program, and I hope Laing doesnt do anything stupid that'll make Reynolds transfer.

I agree about Reynolds. He impresses me as well. I hope he gets some more playing time.

I also think that Preston Dodson came up big on several plays on Saturday. He went inside against the Upstate big man a time or two and so did Gwyne and Kyle. I think that got the team sparked and helped us make the run at the end.

Reynolds was playing good in the first half when everyone else seemed to be struggling.
