pitt's bench handled wvu
they're too tough at home, 107-10 since 2001.

They are tough at home, but I love that they are 0-2 in the Zoo against my Cardinals! Now, if we could just figure out how to beat Pitt at MSG....

That was a horribly officiated war of attrition. Pitt had more off the bench than the Mountaineers. Congrats guys...

I don't know if "horribly" is even a strong enough word to cover that so-called exhibiton of officiating. There must be a stronger word to describe how poorly the refs called that game, on both sides, but I can't think of it. And most who watched that game probably can't either. Hard to watch and enjoy a game when each team has 2 of their best players on the bench most of the first half.
What ever happened to "it's the Big East, let 'em play".
As an aside though ( and definitely not condoning it), you just have to laugh at the comment DeJuan Blair "supposedly" made to Karl Hess for the T: "If you had one more eye, you'd be a cyclops". Jamie then sat DeJuan the rest of the game after the T, hopefully getting the point across. Question is--had the game been closer those last 10 minutes would Jamie have still tried to teach Blair a lesson or put him back in?

If Blair really said that, I owe him a beer...
It wouldn't have been so bad if they'd have been consistent. But there was no telling what they were going to call, or when they were going to call it...
If Ruoff and Butler hadn't fouled out, he probably would have put Blair back in. As it was, they didn't need him...

the officiating was downright horrific, but ultimately it's clear Pitt is the better team. WVU played hard though, and I like the way this team is developing.

I do too. Ebanks is getting noticeably better each game now. He's been good on the boards all year, and his defense has continuously improved. But now he's starting to unleash some offense...
Truck continues to improve. The pressure that consistently got to him early in the season doesn't rattle him now. He just need to learn consistency, and timing. He still has yet to learn when to pass, and when to drive. When he figures that out, a lot of fast break points will come, instead of coming up empty on the break as often...
Kevin Jones is the only consistent help off the bench, no matter how tough the game is. Jones always delivers points, rebounds, and good defense. These 3 players give all Mountaineer fans hope for the future...
