RE: 2009 Battle for the Palladium
I doubt it. We'll have a "new" QB. A new OC. etc. Granted we'll have a bit more experience than we have in the past 2 years, I'm not sure what it'll get us. Just too much turnover in key positions.

That and we always seem to under perform.

RE: 2009 Battle for the Palladium
I know one thing. I'm glad this game is one of the last ones. I think it's our next to last game. I think MT will be tougher next year, but I think we keep the Palladium and add another win to the series for us.

MT takes it back to the Boro this year! I plan on seeing live too. It will be my first visit to Troy this coming season.

it'll be a competitive game. it's in troy tho, that place is hard to get a win at. if it's in the boro, i like the blue raiders chances. i think troy wins tho.

You are correct that in recent years it has seemed to become that way. However, if one is to consider a series a rivialry then one must consider all games played. With that being said here is how the games have matched up over the years:

1936 -- MT 20 Troy 0
1937 -- MT 13 Troy 0
1939 -- MT 14 Troy 7
1942 -- MT 20 Troy 0
1946 -- MT 12 Troy 0
1947 -- MT 41 Troy 17
1952 -- MT 33 Troy 7
1953 -- MT 6 Troy 0
1999 -- Troy 48 MT 31
2001 -- MT 54 Troy 17
2003 -- MT 27 Troy 20
2004 -- Troy 37 MT 17
2005 -- MT 17 Troy 7
2006 -- Troy 21 MT 20
2007 -- Troy 45 MT 7
2008 -- Troy 31 MT 17

MT leads overall series 9-5

Troy leads series from 1999 (Their first every win) 5-3

Points scored overall -- MT 348 Troy 257

Not as lopsided (even if you start in 1999) as one would think. It is the current 3 game win streak that gives it that appearance.

TF05's Post Signing Day | Pre Spring Practice Prediction

Troy 35
MT 21

MTSU will keep it close, but Levi, Jernigan, Jarboe, and DuJuan Harris will be too much for the blue raiders. On defense, look for one of the best D-Lines and front six in the country to shut down MTSU's running game:

DE - Brandon Lang / Jonathan Massaquoi / Antonio Harper
DT - Eugene Kinlaw
DT - Kevin Dixon
DE - Cameron Sheffield / Mario Addison

LB - Boris Lee
LB - Bear Woods

RE: 2009 Battle for the Palladium
our defense is finally going to be as impressive as our offense. i mean we're looking REALLY good.

Arkansas, UAB, and Bowling Green are all going to bleed. after that, watch out Sun Belt...'cause the Trojans are comin' to burn your house down!

Hell why not? Let's throw Florida in there as a W as well. Undefeated season anyone???

RE: 2009 Battle for the Palladium
Normally I'd put Florida in there as a chance to be beaten, but with all 11 back on defense and superman tim tebow returning, i dont think there's much a chance, and i never say that kind of stuff, I just think Florida is way too good right now. Honestly, I see Troy going 8-4 this year, then going to a bowl (with a win over middle)
