Rivals reports that Kelip Goodwin a 6'2, 185 athlete from South Haven MI has verballed to EMU. Kelip is unrated and runs the 40 in 4.5. Rivals showed no other Div I offers. I haven't checked the Scout database.

Safety Kelip Goodwin and middle linebacker Blaine McGowan are two of South Haven’s biggest playmakers.


Nichols said NCAA Division I coaches are recruiting Goodwin, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound senior as a strong safety who wears No. 18.


“People will run away from him,” Nichols said. “He’s really fast. He’s a real hitter, and he runs our defense.”

Opponents had to be aware of the 6-foot-2, 188-pound senior outside linebacker every play. Goodwin totaled 41 solo tackles and 14 assists, with 5 sacks and 5 tackles for loss. He also had 4 pass breakups for the Rams, who improved throughout the season and finished 8-4 with a regional finals appearance.

Just another reason why folks shouldn't be TOO concerned with star gazing.

I agree the one Southfield LB got "graded" to two stars by Scout.

Using a different rating by Rivals Kelip is rated a 5.1.
