LMU has put a lot of things on hold until a new president is named.
She has nothing to do with LMU moving to D-1. It's the billionaire chairman of the board of trustees (who was listed last week as one of the most powerful men in Tennessee) who started the medical school (named for him) and law school who wants to move to D-1. There is also an engineering school and large research department coming soon.
The president was basically just the one appearing before the cameras and signing the diplomas and payroll checks. She is known for dealing with SACS and working to improve academic standards/policies so maybe she sees TC as a challenge due to SACS not liking TC's block scheduling.
Rumor around Harrogate is that moving to D-1 is a major reason she left. I'd be surprised if you even hear the phrase "D-1" while she is at TC.

Pete's quite a person. Thanks for the info and as we all suspect, welcome to the A-Sun. If not the A-Sun, do you think LMU will pursue membership in the Big South? OVC?

LMU has a nice basketball facility. I hear they are starting a lacrosse program. What are the chances of football returning to the school?

I don't know. I'd say it would have to be a conference with non-football members. I'd say if the A-Sun didn't want LMU in Pete would sweeten the deal. He has money to burn.

I've heard that too. Wonder if they drop that idea when they go D-I since most conferences have track and don't have lacrosse.
As far as football goes, your guess is as good as mine.
