Gun AMMO .... This Butt's for YOU !!!!!
Quote:Serial Numbers on Ammo, or Bullets?
November 26, 2008
Update on Bullet Serialization

During the past week the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) -- the trade association for the firearms and ammunition industry -- has received inquires concerning state legislation that would require the serialization of ammunition on a mass production basis.

Bullet serialization -- the process by which each individual round of ammunition is identified and marked with a laser engraved serial number -- is not feasible from a practical standpoint and any legislation mandating such action could rightfully be considered a de facto ban on ammunition.

While legislation has been introduced in more than 20 states, NSSF has successfully defeated all of these bills. NSSF will continue to closely monitor state or federal legislation to require bullet serialization and will continue to issue Legislative Alerts to industry members and Second Amendment advocates in those states when bills are introduced or scheduled for a hearing or vote.

Demonstrating the effectiveness of the NSSF Legislative Alert system, several bullet serialization bill sponsors withdrew their bills immediately following public outcry stemming from the NSSF alerts -- in the case of Kentucky, this was within 48 hours of the bill's introduction.

To learn more about bullet serialization, please visit the NSSF Media Resources page.

To track bullet serialization legislation, and other legislation in your state, please visit the NSSF Legislative Action Center page.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade association for the firearms industry, has sent you this message. Legislative action alerts and updates are made possible through the generous support NSSF receives from its members. Join NSSF in always shooting for more.

Just these Idiot Wonks trying this will bring some people to a Superlatively Euphoric Orgasm.

And yep, there are stupid fools in the Federal Congress tying to push this crap too.

But in the Warm Afterglow of Uber-Glee, I hope everyone sees the bigger picture of the Constitution Burning in the Breeze, as they Light a Blaze to it, then Piss on It as it's ashes die out. There will be no Phoenix out of this Fire.

And yes, they have basically defeated these Illegal and Blatantly Ignorant Bills, BUT, just the mere attempt at this should be more than enough to scare the pants off the Regular Citizen.

SO - - simply ask your self, "What's Next" ??? Freedom of Speech, of Religion, Right to Due Process, Right Not to Incriminate Your Self, to a Speedy Trial, to have Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness as a United States Citizen ..... Which One of Our Liberties is NEXT on the Chopping Block when they get their way with this one ???

We "Gun Owners" will have to go Underground and form Militias to battle this kind of Tyranny and guess what .... we will already be there defending our rights when they Get to Cutting Out Something that Anyone Of YOU Cares About ... and we will pick up that fight too.

This just goes to show you I was not wrong about the Governments Intentions on Banning Weapons.

How stupid can a Human Being be ????????

I mean Laser Engraved Serial Numbers on BULLET CASINGS ????????

Have these Tweddle Dumb's never heard of a Brass Catcher or a Brass Sock ???? 01-wingedeagle 01-wingedeagle :withstupid: 05-lurk :moon2:

Why "Ban a Weapon" when you can ban the Ammo so much easier ???

OH YEAH !!!! There will be an Automatic '5 Cent Surcharge/Tax' for these new Serial Numbered Bullets .... WOW, now who would have THUNK IT ?????

Man these people are such Hateful Bastards .... 04-chairshot 03-nutkick

Hey, you are Preaching too the Choir here ....

I have been saying the exact same thing for a long long time now.

I don't fool my self about having "Real Freedoms", but when they get Blatantly In My Face with it like this is, it is time to stop hiding behind the curtain and openly kick somebodies :moon2:.

03-weeping03-hissyfit Aw, poor baby. THey want to put serial numbers on bullets so that catching gangbangers and others that commit gun crimes is easier. If they can put serial numbers on most electronics merchandise, I think it can be done on a bullet.

I just think you don't want it because you are a hitman and it would be harder to hide your crimes. 03-lmfao 05-stirthepot

I haven't been around this board very long. Was there a similar uproar during the passage of the Patriot Act?

Right Here .....

I hate this garbage .... it is "Supposed to be One Thing", but as always, ends up being a Tool used to screw Decent Americans over with.

This is one Conservative that would love to burn that baby to the ground.

I can't believe anyone would want The Patriot Act .... who voted for this stuff and why were they voting in their SLEEP ????

RobertN .... I will send you $1000 Dollars the First Time a f'ing Bullet with a Serial Number is used to "Honestly Convict the Rightful Shooter".

And by the way, you are one of the "Superlatively Euphoric Orgasmic People" this kind of legislation will come back to bite when they kill off something you feel is Your Right to Have via the Constitution.

Serial Numbers on Bullet Casings stopping Crime ..... please become a Cop and then come back in 5 Years and tell me this nonsense .... PLEASE !!!!

Come on Robert. No one is this stupid. Once again, the only people who this would affect would be honest, law abiding citizens. "Hit men" would take casings with them, as they do now, as would most other people, and "gang-bangers" along with many other people, honest law abiding citizens and criminals alike, could get their unmarked, untracable, bullets from the new criminal enterprise that would be created. Once again, the government, in the name of stopping crime, would be creating new crime.

And Trip already mentioned Brass Catchers or a Brass Sock. Oh, forgot, you don't read. Sorry.

As for "serial numbers on bullets so that catching gangbangers and others that commit gun crimes is easier", that would be an extremely rare event, if it ever happened at all. Finger prints on a casing would be valuable. Serial numbers would not.

You gotta love this. Serial numbers on bullet casings is OK but the libs scream when you want to take DNA from a convicted felon. Why don't they just put GPS chips in every gun so they know where all of them are at all times?

BTW, what's to stop me from getting my hands on some bogus casings that mean nothing to no one and dropping them at the scene of the crime? Sure would be confusing to the cops.

RE: Gun AMMO .... This Butt's for YOU !!!!!
3 things that makes this so absurd.
1)Bullet serialization, is only effective if the bullet is intact. Additionally, This is going to mean ammo is going to registered? Otherwise, isn't it a mute point. Can you see that a massive paper trail is going to have to be implemented, is it not? How are they going to track billions of bullets when they cannot even keep track of 300 million people. Hell, bastards are having trouble keeping track of our nuclear missile arsenal, and tracking 100% of our fissionable material has proven very elusive. Also, How many bullets are produced annually, billions?
2) High Explosives like C4 (commercial mfg) have little microdots in them to allow forensics to trace its origin. I can see this also happening to gunpowder, maybe.
3)To control ammo, all you need to do is control primers, tax primers out he @ss and sportsman won't even be able to sight in a weapon. Criminals will always find a way.
