The Worst Showing??
I did not see the game on TV. Listening to Tucker describe the game, it seemed to me to be the very worst a Trojan team has played in my 22 or so years as a fan. Not only did they turn it over time and time again, they couldn't make a lay-up. Defense is supposed to be our strength, yet WKU seemed to score at will from anywhere. For those who watched the game, are their individual players that much better than ours? A coaching change? I believe it's safe to say that in most D-1 programs that would definitely be done. Here? who knows, could be another contract extension.

I did see the game on TV, and I can tell you it was the worst exhibition of basketball I can remember seeing. We had more turnovers that points in the first half, didn't we? That's impossible. We're a team picked first in our division? We looked like a Junior High team playing against a college team. I can't remember being more disgusted over a Trojan performance.

For the life of me, I cannot understand why you give a coach a five year extension on a contract after two poor years or so. It's not like someone was going to come in here and hire him out from under us. I wouldn't think that he is on the coach for hire hot list.
Maybe they felt that if they gave Joe Foley one, that they had to give Steve one too. I would and do worry that someone will come after Foley. He has certainly earned his extension, and his teams have continued to improve and get better each year.
In a program like ours, you give a guy a long term contract, and if he goes sour, you may be stuck with him.

In a program like ours, long term contracts are stupid. If a coach is really successful, he's going to leave for a bigger program. If he doesn't have great success, why would you want him on a long term contract? Only mistake I feel Chris might have made in his tenure as AD. He might be rethinking that decision after last night.
