It is nice and WHITE. 03-lmfao As for the story, it seems like some passenger overreacted. You weren't on the plane were you? I can understand the response by authorities. They had to check it out.

Anyone , and I don't care iof they are white, brown, black, green yellow... or multi-colored who makes a "joke" about aircraft safety deserves three months on the "No Fly List" as well as being tossed off the plane post haste...without an apology later on.

Certain things you don't joke about, espcially if you are wearing a hijab on a plane.

Um, it didn't sound like they were joking. It sounded like there were seriously asking which is the safest part of the plane. Of course, you would have thought they were terrorists and probably would have reported them even if they didn't make the comment. "Hey, they are wearing 'muzzie' clothes. THey should not be on MY flight".

As pointed out, the only "safe seat" on a commerical airliner is probably right next to an exit.

I wouldn't fly Air Tran to begin with. I live in the Atlanta area and have heard many stories about how things are screwed up on the airline on a daily basis. Unlike Southwest, AirTran is a prime example of "getting what you paid for." But Southwest has pulled some stunts tossing college students off a plane for wearing "short shorts" ..

I'd rather pay the $30.00 extra each way and fly Continental or Delta, American, JetBlue or Southwest.

WMD Owl - - man I remember how gut wrenching that situation was for family and rescue workers.

I mean a crash is bad enough, but to be in one of the most inhospitable places on Earth had to be horrific to infinity.

Strangely designed memorial ... gets your attention.

That doesn't mean the authorities were acting appropriately. There should have been a conversation with the offending parties. What the article doesn't address is how they reacted to that. If they were calm and reasonable, then I don't see any reason to boot the passengers.

I don't think the problem was with the authorities. It sounds like they were satisfied with their treatment by the FBI. After the FBI cleared them, the agents tried to get AirTran to seat them on another flight then helped the families get booked on another airline when AirTran refused.

Authorities in the broader sense of AirTran management (not necessarily the pilot, but it was probably his call).

That doesn't mean the authorities were acting appropriately.

But it sure doesn't mean that they weren't, either. From all that I can find out about the situation, I'd say that the only people who acted inappropriately were the Muslim passengers. Surely, they should have known better to have engaged in that kind of conversation under the circumstances. I know how to behave when I go to Arab countries, and I make extra efforts to act that way it out of respect to them. I would not expect less of them. They should know that after 9/11 any suspicious words or deeds by people who appear to be Muslim/Arab around airplanes will result in discomfort to others. They should know to go the extra mile to avoid even the appearance of such.

And they got booted off the plane, which appears to me to have been the right decision based on what happened. Again, based on the information available, it's certainly the decision that I would have wanted had I been another passenger on the plane.
