Solid crowd today for the Pizza Bowl
The crowd was announced as 38,582.

The business community in Birmingham was very thankful to have lots of fans visiting and spending money.

The Big East was a winner on and off the field in Birmingham.

Well done Rutgers!!

They better increase that pathetic $300K payout soon. It is just not acceptable.

I heard that they atleast sold pizza this year. I went to the first one when ECU played in it and there was none sold and beer was sold on fold up tables out of giant tin containers for something like 4 bucks a can.

Beer was still sold the same way last year, DgD3. There was Papa John's Pizza last year, however.

RE: Solid crowd today for the Pizza Bowl
I wasnt sure about last year but I was stating from when I attended. My sisters best friend went to the game as she is a State student so that is where I got my information from. It still blows my mind how the very first one named after a pizza franchise did not. I did not care but my sister walked around the whole stadium and found nothing.

Papa John's signed up at the last minute but the stadium had a contract with some other distributer by then.

Let's hope. After the Hawaii near debacle I hope they are concentrating on the game and not the beautiful weather.

Whats the forecast for the game? I went to the one between Wake and UL and it was pretty sloppy weather.

RE: Solid crowd today for the Pizza Bowl
UC had nothing to play for in that Hawaii game except to pad the stats. The Orange Bowl is for a major bowl championship (something the players have openly said they wanted to play for but didn't think they could get there until recently), national exposure, against a Top 25 national power and respect for Cincinnati and the Big East.
