RE: GO WARRIORS!!!
With 3 and a half minutes left. Lets do a quick chat on Notre Dame next year. They return almost everybody in their core and after this win I have to admit they will be in the preseason top 25. 1 because of the talent they do have and 2 because they are Notre Dame. I see them with their weak schedule being Bowl eligible and stealing a Big East bowl. Blah whatever.

Of course they kissed our @sses when we brought our Top 15 ranking and BCS conference title and national exposure with us. They even indirectly blamed our old administration for their fans and players acting like thugs in 2002. I'm so glad UC tore their hearts out. I hope Notre Dame kicks the crap out of them.
What national exposure

RE: GO WARRIORS!!!
I was surprised by the attendance at the game. I thought more fans would have attended. I thought Notre Dame would sell the place out or so the mythology of Notre Dame would suggest.

The game drew 43,487 fans, which is a bowl record. But in 2006 the game between Hawaii and Arizona State drew 40,623. So, Notre Dame's presence in the game drew an additional 2,864 fans to the game when Hawii appears in it. (Last year the game between Boise and ECU drew 30,467).

Incidently, the Hawaii-Cincinnati game a couple of weeks ago drew 40,549 folks.

Hawaii had a much better team back in 2006 (10-3 regular season record) vs 7-5 this year heading into their bowl game.

In 2006, Hawaii passed for 440 yds per game to lead the nation.

This year, without June Jones, Hawaii passed for 245 yds per game (still pretty good, 33rd best in the nation).

PS. Almost all of Hawaii's regular season home games are played on Saturday night, which their fans like...while the Hawaii Bowl is always played in the afternoon (local time) on Christmas Eve.

Excuses? They got wasted, who cares what time of day or night it is? Is ND suddenly a world beater?

Oh, and btw, lots of passing yards? They play in the freakin' wac, man...

The game was on ESPN2. ESPN/ESPN2 held Hawai'i's last two games open for telecasts (vs. Washington St., vs. Cincy). With WSU being so bad, the Cincy game was a logical choice to pick up.

As for the what CatsClaw inferred as a dissing of Cincy, I infer as a dissing of Syracuse. They wanted Syracuse because its so far down that they wanted, IMO, what they felt was an easy win. Settling for Cincinnati, again IMO, means they were settling for a competitive game.
