Congratulations Bulls
I didn't see another thread on this, so here goes......

I've finally recovered enough to come over here and congratulate our former conference brothers. Congrats on a very well played game.

I hope that was the Bull team from the first half of the season.

In any event, you guys looked good tonight and we certainly didn't. Nice game Bulls.

Congrats to the Bulls fans.

Congrats to the Bull. Your team played great today and I wished that I could say the same thing for us. I knew your defense was real good and knew it would be a problem. Many fans had good things to say about the bowl and your fan base. Again, Congrats. Good luck next year.

But on a really cool note Memphis Basketball was on ESPN and Memphis Football on ESPN 2. I think that speaks well of their athletic department.

Where is Gray Avenger now?
After comming here and predicting a BIG Memphis win, you figured that at the very least he would congratulate the Bulls?

I was thinking the very same thing. He was spoutin off about Memphs having more talent, being a better team, and the most ridiculous claim, that Memphis even has better coaching. Nothing against Memphis fans, but that guy is a bigger homer than anyone else that I have seen. Its too bad, because other than being such a homer and trashing the BE bb schools, he is a pretty decent poster.

Here I am, my friend, ready to congratulate your team and take my medicine. Did not return home until Sunday night and was too tired. Yesterday, I was busy exercising my dog, attendng the basketball game (vs Drexel), stacking firewood, etc. and never got online. Yes, I confidently predicted a Tiger win, and I was certainly dead wrong. We had statistically outplayed both Louisville and UCF (though losing both to major errors in kicking game and/or turnovers), both of which played USF close, and we seemed to be playing better toward the end of the year while USF was apparently in a tailspin. And while I knew USF had the best defense we had seen, we have seen several very good offenses and our defense had been playing well. Bottom line, Grothe played a great game as we were never able to put any pressure on him (critical in our defensive scheme). Every Bulls fan I talked to said it was his best game of the year, and the results had more to do with execution than Memphis deficiencies. They would have dominated a lot of teams that night.

So congratulations to USF (AND Syracuse). We had a great time down there and most Bulls fans were classy.

Wow!!

It must have pained teribly for Gray Avenger to type those kind words about USF!!!

BTW...my group got to sit next to the Memphis band.....all I can say is WOW! Those kids are well directed and play with an attitude....and I mean that as a positive.

There could be worst things than Memphis joining the BigEast. Most USF fans have not really ever had a beef with Memphis/Memphis State fans, but mostly with you administrators. If we get past that Memphis could be a great addition.

Im glad you enjoyed your trip. I wouldnt say it was our best performance of the year but we looked as we did early in the year. I have always said if Grothe doesnt try to force it when a play is not there then USF has a good shot. When he doesnt take care of the ball and makes dumb decisions we lose.
In our 8 wins he had 14 TDS and 3 INT
In our 5 losses he had 4 TDS and 11 INT
We thought he had learned that early in the season but towards the end he reverted back to that form. Lets hope in his senior year he limits those force throws.
