EMU v. St. Bonaventure
I'm not sure if anyone wants to talk hoops with all of the football hoopla (hahahha great pun) regarding the new coach, but here it goes anyway. My thoughts from the game tonight:

Our zone defense is atrocious. We gave up far too many easy buckets. I would guess the Bonnies were able to pass from the top of the arc to right under the bucket 6 or 7 times in the first half.

Our hustle on defense was terrible. It seemed like every time we turned the ball over we just watched the Bonnies run down and score.

Our passing was really bad. the box score shows 18 turnovers, but i have to think that was from someone who was a very generous scorekeeper. I saw a lot of ill-advised passes from Farris underneath the hoop. There were also some botched inbounds passes and some crummy hand-offs.

The refs were a joke. There were far too many fouls called in this game. It went both ways, i don't want to make this sound like an excuse, because it's not. But the refs couldn't put away their whistles for more than 45 seconds at a time.

Farris and Frazier were not getting along tonight. I don't know if it was just today or if it has been going on for awhile, but it was obvious they were not getting along.

I am very nervous about monday's game. we could easily get blown out. I hope i'm wrong.

The last time I remember EMU playing the Bonnies was when 5-5 Earl Boykins was matched up against 5-7 Shandue McNeil. Unfortunately this game won't have the same kind of fun.

A very disappointing loss at home. There is No excuse to lose a game like this at home. I was very tired at half time and just sat there listening to the game which I don't do very often. That is because the Womens game went into double overtime after being down 17 at the half.

2-8, who would have thought we'd be this bad? Defense in 1st half was pitiful, Bonnies out hustled, outquicked us. Lot of their points were on layups. EMU never seems to play 40 mins of basketball.

Oakland could be embarrasing!

EMU was not prepared to play this game. It looks like they just do not have a plan or play with cohesivness. I was also surprised when I saw the 18 turnover total. I thought they had 15 in the first half!

Is it me or does Ramsey seem to be in reaction mode all of the time? He is really good at telling a player what they just did wrong but how good is he at preparing them to do it right in the first place? Also, this team lacks shooters...or at least a system to get the shooters good shots.

It was last year at the O'Rena in Rochester. I was there and it wasn't pretty. I haven't seen any evidence that it will be different this year.

To win the fans you MUST win the home games! THat is the meat and potatos of any good program, wins on the road is gravy.

Sigh very discouraging year so far for both women's and men's basketball.

Absolutely no chemistry with the guard play. I see possibly 2-12 before conference play.
