"He was a problem every week." I understand that academics were an issue too.
JD's loss hurts obviously defensively and size wise, but I think that Artie Marine will now have to step up. Looks like Croft is going to get some more time too.
The good news is that JD will probably be back next year. Heramb, Pollock, McConnell, Green, Cummings, Dixon ... let's schedule UNC - psycho T, Ellingsworth and TY Lawson will be GONE!

JD is a senior and has played over 1/3 of the season. There is no way he is back next year...unfortunately. Also a blow to hear about Chambers. Next year we will be fine, but man are we thin right now. Our rotation is?
PG: McConnell
SG: Dixon
SF: Woods
PF: JMac
C: Allison
FC: Whipple
FC: Zadrian
G: Croft
GF: Marine
C: Medinic
wooooooweeee...that is a nightmare for Ingle. Almost no guard rotation to go along with almost no big rotation. 3 walk-ons in the top 10, no seniors and 6 players that are new to Kennesaw....Ingle is going to earn every win he gets this year...what a season.

RE: More just in ...
So JD is done, Chambers is done, and Markeith and Jay haven't even been on the court. There's a couples ways of looking at this. One, and the most pessimistic, is that 3/5 of our projected starting lineup won't be out there now that JD is gone. I'm not saying the season is lost, it's way too early for that talk (only one game into the conference). And the other perspective, this really gives us an opportunity to season some young players like Dixon and Woods and now Marine since he will likely be called on to step up. Also, perhaps this is Allison's chance to solidify himself in conference play. with Green and Heramb coming off the redshirt next year, we should have a very solid big man rotation. With a full season under their belts, the freshman guards should be tuned up and ready for full-fledged D-1 competition. Like I said, I'm not ready to count the losses and move on just yet. This team faces a big challenge. They must gel, and by the end of the season, hopefully sooner than later, that will happen leaving the door wide open for 2009-2010. It was a big question before the season, could this team gel in time, and now, I would say, is even a bigger question with these road bumps along the way.

That really hurts.
We'll have to go deeper into the bench. Maybe Zadrian will play more. I actually think he has a lot of upside and potential. Plus Dixon will be seeing more time, and i have been pretty impressed with the way he plays so far. It will make him better quicker.

I like our young players, but it is almost too much to ask them to step up night in and night out to carry a Division I team in conference play. I will be very interested to watch this ETSU game. They have an advantage at every position, and their bench (due to all of our injuries) is much better. Anything can happen in college basketball, so I am still optimistic for a win, but our guys are going to have to out-work and out-play their more talented competition.

Good thing Ingle is a comedian, because you would have to have a sense of humor to get through all of this...
I'm also sure as a veteran coach he has the perspective to realize that your current woes are year or two away from being ancient history. You guys have all the ingredients to have a stellar D1 program.

Thanks BucFaithful. The hard thing is the realize that as fans we can have fun, cheer our team on, and feel a part of the squad, but as coaches this is their livelihood, and winning is everything. Ingle has earned our respect and with what he has in the cupboard I think it is fairly easy for most fans to continue to stay positive even when every day we are hit with worse and worse news.

On a sidenote, I am impressed that even with our injury riddled team that Ingle and his staff had the cajones to make a principled stand and suspend a player for misconduct. There are a lot of coaches that would let this slide based on our injury situation, but as fans we should be thankful that we have a coaching staff that truly looks out for the interest of the individual player (apparently Chambers needs some discipline in his life) and looks out for the longterm interest of the program over short term, ill-advised gains.

I don't think any of the options we've made have been short term. We're looking to win some games, stay competitive during the transition and be able to put out the best product available for 09/10. *edit right year*
With that said, there's no room for conduct related (and I would say academic) issues to be in any of our programs. Playing collegiate D-I ball is a lot of peoples dreams and to have that construed by a deviant after many chances is cheating the other players and the program.

Well that takes the mystery out of that one....now we just have to hear about Mitchell. To be honest, I am glad that at this point that Cummings will be redshirted. It is so late in the year to try and get a freshman acclimated to D1 ball. By the time he really got his bearings we would be halfway through conference play. Now we have a 2 man class of Green and Cummings essentially coming in for the 2009 recruiting class. It helps balance out our scholarships a bit which is nice as well. After this year I think it is (according to the year they graduate):
2010: JMac, Polo, Mitchell
2011: Heramb, Allison, McConnell
2012: Woods, Dixon, Marine, Chambers
2013: Green, Cummings
Zadrian, Ajayi, and Medinic are all walk-ons I believe.
