There is a thread on Memphis board about Andy Kennedy getting arrested. According to Cinn police, he hit a cab driver and used racial slurs. What's the scoop?

Don't know much about this story, because I could care less. However, police did break up a cocaine ring run by Tony Dorsett's son the other day...

I thought you were talking about another kind of Kennedy. I hadn't heard this story until just now. Shows how observant I am today...

If this story is true, he may well be gone. Pity. I thought he was better than that...

I always say people take things way too seriously. That's why this kind of stuff happens, no matter who's at fault...

Who knows...that is nice spin by AK to get out of this mess but I ? the logic, ie why would the cab driver pick the group up at 1 am than drop some racial slurs?

I have bumped into too many cabbies, bartenders, waitress types who get annoyed when people are having more fun then they are. I am typing this message about a block from the incident and I walk by and talk to some of these Cincy immigrant cabbies, many of them are jealous dorks. Before the Crowne Plaza hotel closed here a couple of weeks ago I used to valet park there daily, and those cabbies were always hanging out there. I am going with AK on this one.

We'll have to wait and see. How many times do people falsely accuse a coach of assault? Both sides are suspicious.

My theory, until anything further or worse gets proven, is that Kennedy did not pay when he jumped out of the cab after his friends were not allowed to enter and that is what set off the taxi driver. It was only one block or so but the guy wanted Kennedy to pay the fare and did not take too kindly to being blown off. Then the taxi driver called the police and trumped up his story to make things seem even worse than they actually were. It is a plausible possibility anyway but we will soon see what actually comes to light as more details emerge.

Until anything gets proven, unless you're investigating this, having a theory set in your mind prejudices you to believe that your theory is correct no matter the facts...

And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that for the time being.

Why should he pay anything. The coaches tried to get out of the car, when the cabbie told them that he couldn't take all 5 passengers. The cabbie is the one who locked the doors and pulled away with three still in the car. I wouldn't pay either. I think their stories will likely change since AK filed defametion suits against the cabbie and his witness.

It's also funny that the cabbie had no injuries, even though he had been assaulted and punched in the face.
