Well, besides that, Georegetown lost five seniors from 1982 and its starting PG was lost for most of the season. This was a lineup of freshman and sophomores, which paid dividends the next year.

Ewing not only went to the Final Four in '82, '84 and '85; he played in the National Champship Game in every one of those years. A 1-point loss to North Carolina in '82 and a 2-point loss to Villanova in '85 prevented the Hoyas from winning three National Championships in four years. Those were some damn good Georgetown teams back in the early and mid 80s.
