Basketball Program Book
The basketball program book seems to have gone the way of the economy. They now sell a scorecard for $1.00 at the basketball games. The front and back covers feature a player. On the inside front cover there is an interview of the player, our basketball schedule with results, and a column on the game opponent and information on series history with that team. The facing page is the scorecard. I miss the book, but I can certainly understand why they are going leaner with so few fans in attandance. One of these days, fans will realize that we are rising from the ashes like a phoenix and start showing up at the games..

This is not new. They have been selling this scorecard ever since I've been going to games for the past 5-6 years.

No, this is the first year of this configuration. It was a full program previously.

It has gradually downsized over the years. I recall an article or note written by Mike Korcek saying they were having a hard time selling it to advertisers.

If you remember, it used to have player bios/individual photos among other things. That went away maybe two years ago as it got thinner.

They used to have both.. so neither is wrong. I didn't see the regular program when I went to the last game. Only the scorecard.

I have been going to the games for many years, and I have never seen simply a scorecard. It is merely one page on card stock folded in half. There used to be a program book like they have for football, only smaller.

There was definitely a real program, even up till last year. I've only made it to one home game so far this year, but I didn't see one being sold.

On another note, the cheerleaders we're selling a calendar, but I was out of my seat when they came by my section, so I can't comment on the quality of it unfortunately. I suppose I can put my NIU Basketball program money towards that at the next game.

The calendar is nice, with some quality photos. None will make your eyes pop out, as they are all tasteful and unrevealing. They are photographed around campus and in the community.

I feel so badly for the cheerleaders, as I do for the band. They are like strangers in their own land. The cheerleaders used to have a section on the Athletics web site. No more. You cannot get official information on the cheerleaders on the net. The cheerleaders must earn their own revenue for uniforms, trips to the national competition, etc. All of this comes from sales of merchandise, such as the calendar, and the split the pot tickets. Please support the cheerleaders and band by buying whatever they are selling...and I mean this in the cleanest sense (for once)!

I like the new program for basketball. Clean and simple with the right information...Easy to handle and when I get pissed and slap the program down it causes less damage to the people around me than the old one did.

RE: Basketball Program Book
Its only a buck too! That allows more money for the expensive food and drink at the concession stand. I'm getting psyched up already. Sunday at ULAR, then next week home games with SIU and Loyola. Too bad students are on break, we won't have those 25-50 extra people....... What will really suck is if there is no band. At the two home games they have been awesome although they arrived late to the Indiana State game coming from volleyball. They are loud, fun to watch and look like they are having a blast. Props out to the band and I look forward to any game you guys are at! Keep up what you are doing and spread the excitement.

Hey Bro, you need to chill out and relax a bit! Buy yourself a cheerleader calendar and go sit in the bathroom for a while. It's a win-win situation. The cheerleaders will make a few bucks and you'll get to release some of that aggression out of you.
