Notre Dame and the little 15!
How long is the Big East going to let this image continue? I find it to highly insulting and it demeans the BEs' national imagine. It causes us to be viewed as a second class conference! 05-mafia

RE: Notre Dame and the little 15!
I'm there with you.

The BE has brought this all upon themselves. We have this megamess for BB but only 8 for FB. We bow down to the Domers and allow them the opportunity to take our bowl slots. Just recently we have asked/required (more like begged prolly) them to schedule BE teams in FB yet we gladly give them a home for all their other sporting teams thinking this might endear us to them.

We regularly pimp our games on non saturdays for TV exposure and have extended the season into December for TV. All the while, the media just keeps ripping on us for everything from weak scheduling (their perceptions, not mine), to not beating Hawaii by 115 or so to attendance. So clearly any psych benefits the head office thought we would get by getting more national exposure just isn't working but we get more money! woo-hoo.

All the while, we are waiting for a UPS, ND or another 'big' name to break ranks and want to join the BE before we expand FB schools and maybe, maybe break away and become an All-Sport conference just like every respected conference, key word there is respected.

BE is a bastard hybrid. Giving the Domers the ultimatum would be a good start to righting this dilemma the BE put themselves in.

RE: Notre Dame and the little 15!
As long as Providence people run the BE, it will always be ND first, sticking it to the FB schools in post season bowls, the ND Protected Seven, and the Chump Football Eight that is thrown scraps so they don't split and send the BB schools to a second tier level beside the the A-10. The BB schools would only have one season in the spotlight as opposed to the September threw April Conference headlines. The BE would become a 3 horse race in a split with Providence sucking along without the FB schools.

Personally I think the 11 FB playing schools should go their own way if there is a split even though 3 of the teams would not play in the Split BE. One all sports school could be added initially to ease the FB schedule and another further down the road if they bring enough to the table money wise to justify their inclusion. No major Split BE markets would be lost if ND, Nova, and G-town were included and the BB side would be just as strong as it is now after the split.
