Seriously, get a coach give him 3-5 years to produce. If he has sucess early don't penalize him later. Auburn has set their program back 10 years by firing Tuberville. Alabama has caught up, but by the time Auburn finds a coach that can recruit the south. Saban will have won a national championship. Tubervilles firing is solely because he took a calculated chance on making Auburn better, by going to the spread, at the same time Alabama is having an undefeated season. They did the same thing in 1999 when they fired Bowden for having a bad season while Alabama won the SEC. (It would be funny if they hired Houston Nutt, since Tuberville came from Ole Miss also).
I'm no fan of Weis, but ND needs a serious wake up call. Your school is not special. Get over yourselves.04-chairshot

I think after 5 years you don't have a successful program then you get the boot. Sometimes you have have quality skill players but no offensive line, and no Defense to speak of. It takes a few years to get your recruits on the field playing at a high level. Sometimes people think that just because you recruited 6, 5 star linemen that in year 2 you should have a great offensive line. It doesn't work that way. Experience is the key.
