What does the "*" next to usernames in the "users browsing this forum" mean?

Does mine have a "*" ?

I've seen yours with one, but I'm not sure if it's all the time or not.

moe also has one.

Well, I'm not supposed to be seen at all, so something is wrong.

I'm special.

kimbosucks has a "*" too.

And since I've been looking, I've never seen DB or moe without one.

See, it's not there now, right? I'm supposed to be hidden from the who's online list, but obviously that doesn't work. You get what you pay for......

Sometimes the hidden statuses (stati?) on sites will only change after you log out, and then you'll be hidden when you come back next time. I know it works that way on two of the other sites I participate on. However, those user names that are hidden can only be seen by the mods and admins of the site.
