Pitt shuts down Texas Tech
Texas Tech, which scored an unconscionable 167 points against East Central Oklahoma last week, was introduced to Big East defense and scored a hundred less losing to the Panthers 80-67. The Panthers did it mostly with defense, frustrating the Red Raiders who like to run. Sam Young scored 24 and DeJuan Blair scored 15 for the Panthers. Pitt plays Washington State tomorrow in the finals of the Legends Classic.

Quote:Tony Dorsett - In the history of the game, Dorsett was only one of two players in the history of football to win a college football National Championship, a Super Bowl, a Heisman trophy and ended his career in the College and Pro HOF.

Who was the other?

Marcus Allen didn't play on the 1978 USC team that was ranked #1 by the UPI poll. Alabama is recognized as the National Champions by the NCAA for 1978. The answer is no one. Tony D stands alone in those accomplishments.

Tony Dorsett stands alone.

I can still remember him dragging his body up from a 8 or 10 yard gain, looking dead tired, head down and being the last one back in the huddle. He would get the ball on the next play and zip off 20 or more yards without looking like he gave an effort.

The most amazing athlete I have ever witnessed except for the guy who plays the pan flute.
