Boy we sure did blow that game against APSU. Channels caught fire in the second half. The halves were basically mirror images of one another with Belmont dominating the first and APSU dominating the second. The foul call with 0.2 on a ball getting tipped around the rim was pathetic. When every single player on the court in in the paint fighting for a tip/rebound, how can one foul be distinguised from the seven other ones?

Anyway, with Dansby not playing that hurt us bad. Looks like the ankle is still hurt. I would guess that with our depth he would sit for a while until it gets better so he can be healthy for the stretch run, but we will and did miss him. Any thoughts on when he'll be back?

I was sitting behind the bench and i guess a buddy of his asked if he was alright and he said that we would be back next game and that he was ready to play against Peay but they were resting his ankle. In response to the call, worst thing I have ever seen...unbelievable. Still its no excuse we should have dominated them, we played sloppy. Also when it comes down to it, we have to make our free throws.

How was it called a shooting foul? It didn't appear that it was controlled by anyone and APSU was not in the double bonus. Never should have been called, but if it is called it should have been 1 & 1, which would have been a more pressure shot.

Truth... no way that was a shooting foul.

Even then, i am not sure why he did not miss the second shot on purpose. no way we could have got a shot off

Especially when they cost you the game. Imagine if that would have ended Belmont's season...:-O

Imagine if the call against us happened with 17 sec left instead of .2
Imagine if we had a chance to make free throws and made them....
Imagine if we had a chance to play defense after the call....
Imagine the difference between a player standing in the middle of the court and swinging back handed at an opposing player and dropping an F-bomb and 10 players all battling for a rebound under the basket.

Imagine ETSU fans ever getting over March of 2008 in Nashville....I have a hard time imagining that.

I think we can all agree that refs frequently make poor and inconsistent calls however they're not exactly going away.

I for one do not think that call cost us the game, that happened earlier in the half by not handling the pressure defense very well and doubling off of Channels too many times. We frankly had done well to get back into the game as we were down 9 before we tied it late.

As for me, I'm going to watch us pick up our check and beating at Pitt tonight and Move On! please do the same. There's a very interesting season shaping up in the A-SUN this year.
