I'll have to disagree with you there for a few reasons.
1) Louisville possession at 13:10 in the 4th quarter was the dumbest series I've seen us play all year. Down by 1 point and driving and here is what gets called in:
1st and 20 at UC 25 Bilal Powell rush for 4 yards.
2nd and 16 at UC 21 Bilal Powell rush for a loss of 2 yards.
3rd and 18 at UC 23 Louisville penalty 5 yard delay of game.
3rd and 23 at UC 28 Brock Bolen rush for no gain.
We needed 20, 16, and 23 yards and we ran out of the I-formation every single time. Who coaches like that? If you want to settle for a field goal (our best kicker is only 1-4 beyond 30 yards), why not attempt at least one pass?
2) We must have ran 20 sweeps that game despite the fact that not a single one of them worked. While I have nothing against the sweep, it was pretty clear that our line wasn't blocking/containing Cincinnati's DE's and DBs. The sweep that sticks out most in my mind was a right sweep where the Louisville player straight down the line and out of bounds. Despite that, we were still calling for sweeps in the 4th.
3) 1st and 10 we run 2 plays 90% of the time. Anderson left between the Guard and the Tackle and and Anderson right between the Guard and Tackle. I don't mind running on 1st down but we literally run the same play on first down.
4) The most embarassing thing about it though is that ESPN even pointed out the playcalling in their write-up.
