I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but it seems to me there are 5 different groupings of conferences with like attendance.

USF is drawing just as many fans as WVU, so the Big East's numbers would probably be the same if you replaced their attendance with someone else like ECU (if they were invited).

ECU is averaging around 43k per game and I don't think that included to game in Charlotte against VaTech that was supposed to be an ECU home game.

What was USF averaging before joining the Big East? I am under the impression that it was less than 25,000.

USF waa drawing around 28K when in CUSA. I expect our numbers to drop in our last two games because many bandwagon fans are jumping off.

But the main reason USF numbers have increased are because we are winning. Our two seasons in CUSA were not our greatest 7-4 and 4-7 so our numbers wwerent that great..

Obviously winning, BE exposure and national rankings have helped

Actually, we had more for the Houston game, and within about a 100 for the Marshall game. It was a decent turnout for the WVU game, though. The VT game in Charlotte brought in about 73,000, which isn't included as home.

UCF easily lead CUSA in attendance last year, with ECU following them up in 2nd place:

2007
UCF: 44,018
ECU: 41,537

In 2008, UCF and ECU are neck-n-neck but ECU should come out a head in the CUSA attendance stats in 2008:

UCF: 42,786 (Only Thanksgiving Weekend game left vs UAB...not good attendance expected).
ECU: 42,996

Memphis's low attendance is due to the 0-3 start. In a good year, we can easily average over 40,000.

Good thing is, most of us have room for growth. Those top-tier BCS schools with 85k+ seat stadiums don't have anywhere else to expand except the ticket price itself. It's not like Michigan could add another 20k seats, because they really can't.
