You gotta hold on to the ball kid. We're finding ways to lose this game.

RE: Go Bearcats! Beat USF!
Is it me or does Leavette really look like a pissed off individual everytime it looks like his team will lose. He just appears to be cussing out the team every chance he gets. I started noticing it during the Pitt game and starting to notice it a little more 2night.

Boy the Big East gets crazier by the week.

I'm not as crazy as the people on thebullspen, but I'm beginning to turn on the OC. How many times can we run it up the middle?

Well that should do it. Good defense by Cincinnati on that last play, very balanced team overall. Best of luck the rest of the way Bearcats!

And Cincy fans start the dumbest chant in football "Overrated!!!" Seriously.....you are basically downgrading your own team by saying that. Overall good game though. Cincys DBs were too much for Grothe to handle while Pike and Goodman had some great completions.

RE: Go Bearcats! Beat USF!
As I said during the Kansas game, Grothe still lacks the maturity in his decision making skills. That really prevents USF from a chance at 10-2 or 11-1 type seasons. At this point in his career, I think he will go down as a good QB but not a great one that could take them to that next level.

Grothe now has a career TD/INT ratio of 42/36. For comparison to two QB's who were able to lead their teams to a Big East title, Brian Brohm's career ratio was 71/24 and Pat White stands at 47/19. QB is not the sole problem for USF, but it's a significant aspect.

Yeah Bit I know. Cincy fans run wild on this board. I think majority of the folks here are Cincy fans.

Pike gonna win this for Cincy if USF does not play better pressure D. Pike is gonna pick them apart now that Darius Butler is not on the other side. USF better put some pressure with their front 4 or this could turn into a long night.

Who the hell is covering Gillyard? The kid is running all over the place.

Won't take anything away from UCONN db's.....but couple thoughts on your comment...

1. last week was Pike's first game back after a month off.....
2. Pike couldn't play after the first half thus UC had Chazz Anderson qb in the second half....

Again, not taking away from your DB's....but thought these two points needed to be said.

I agree that it is a stupid chant, but in this case it probably fit.

Every year USF gets a lot of preseason accolades only to see them go up in smoke by the end of the season. UC gets nothing in the pre-season only to see them prove everybody wrong.

Overrated chant is stupid. It came late and it didn't last long, but I don't like ripping another team (s) that way. USF will rebound and win some solid games down the stretch.

RE: Go Bearcats! Beat USF!
UC was winning when Pike was playing last week against UConn. They were up 13-10 at half when he came out of the game... UC was up 17-7 at half last night, so they scored 3 times in both games in the 1st half. Drawing conclusions based on last week vs this week is just wrong, as far as I'm concerned.

UC was a different team than showed up last week in Connecticut. They ran the ball and threw the ball well (and were fairly balanced in terms of number of each called). The defense got a decent pass rush most of the game as well.

WVU is next week... I still think UC controlls their own destiny as I don't see UConn winning out the rest of the year. Pitt and WVU will give you guys fits and one if not both will beat you.

RE: Go Bearcats! Beat USF!
I failed to mention that USF's weak play recently should not take anything away from UC's great effort last night. I thought UC might be headed down the tube some after last week and the QB uncertainty. However, they really impressed and Pike played great, especially considering he was wearing a cast. I should have assumed UC would win coming off a 24 point loss considering how the league has gone this season!

Who would have guessed 6 weeks ago that on Halloween USF would be the team matching Syracuse with 3 conference losses, while the other 6 teams were all .500 or better?

The amazing thing is Pike was thrid on the Depth chart with Mauk and Grutza expected to be 1 and 2....Not bad and he is just a junior thank goodness.

I love how Pike always has his eyes downfield...even when flushed out of the pocket....and his rocket arm is stong enough to make plays on the run.....being 6'6 helps see over the defense as well...I love Pike!!!
