Shannon, I don't believe that report from UCF that they will play 2 games at Pitt, the story I read and I wish I could remember the link said that the Knights and Panthers reworked it into one game at Pitt to compensate the Panthers for already playing the game in Orlando.

Here are 2 separate unrelated links that shows UCF's 2012 game at Pitt:
http://www.inside99.net/NCAA/future_sche...future.htm
http://pittsburgh.alliancesports.com/con...&CID=29964

I can find NO link that shows UCF playing 2 games at Pitt.

Perhaps I am wrong. I didn't see it on the list of future games on the Scout side. UCF was supposed to play here this year and a future date. They bought out this year, we replaced them with Buffalo (although we had to give them a home & home instead of a single game here). Maybe the game is still on for 2012 then.

I fully understand the business aspect of dropping WVU. Doing it at the last minute is poor business regardless of the dollars. UCF fans complain about USF not playing them, but UCF has created challenges for two of USF's conference mates. That knife cuts both ways. I wouldn't bet that UCF is the next choice to join the Big East. At one time I thought they were the obvious choice, but if academics plays any role in it at all, Temple gets in. Temple has a much better academic rep than UCF, ECU, or Memphis. I am growing doubtful that the FB schools have the sac to split. Adding Temple in FB would allow the conference to continue in it's current bastardized form without disrupting the careful balance of power.

Besides these game will put the L'Ville team in Miami's back yard for prime recruits without playing them. Maybe Miami and UCF are booked when L'ville needs the games too.

Why would the UCF AD and the UL AD waste a 4 yr non-conf series contract between 2 schools that will be future conference members with each other for most of those same years?

Maybe the AD's know something that we don't?

Think about it.05-stirthepot

PS. Pay close attention to the year that UCF is supposedly traveling to Pitt for their game.

Why was it moved AFTER 2010?

Get thinking people!

What you suggest is counter intuitive. If UCF were slated to join the conference in 2010, moving the game back means Pitt gets no return game for coming to Orlando. Since it is already a conference game that would be played anyway.
