He won't even be sentenced. He's just another name added to W's Pardon List.

Putting this POS in a cell and making his victims have to house, clothe, and feed his sorry ass is useless as punishment.
All his assets should be liquidated and returned to the taxpayers to pay restitution to his victims...He should then be subjected to societal ostracism from that point on... A much more fitting punishment.03-idea

I really think that putting people in a cell for non-violent crime is counterproductive to making the "victims" of that crime whole. The victim is "forced" to support the very criminal through their stolen wages..The victim rarely receives restitution under our current system.

He was convicted of lying about free home renovations and taking other gifts from a wealthy oil contractor. What do you want ?? For him to forfeit his assets to the Government? This guy is just guilty of being a slimey politician.

What I would want is more accountability for all politicians, stronger enforcement of ethics and a non-partisian watchdog group that has some teeth. Scumbags on both sides need to be weeded out.

Then..Loss of his job and stiff fines would be OK...I'm not for jailing those that commit non-violent, victimless crime. I don't care to have to pay to their incarceration.

It's interesting that the two most prominent Republicans from Alaska are basically in the same place today. Sarah Palin is at Penn State on the campaign trail, and Ted Stevens is in the State Penn.
