RE: Looks like Bush going all out for McCain
Quote:DAMASCUS, Syria - U.S. military helicopters attacked an area along Syria's border with Iraq on Sunday, causing casualties, Syrian state TV and witnesses said.

The television report quoted unnamed Syrian officials and said the area is near the Syrian border town of Abu Kamal. It gave no other details.

Local residents told The Associated Press by telephone that two helicopters carrying U.S. soldiers raided a farm in the village of Hwijeh, 10 miles inside Syria's border, killing seven people and wounding five. One of the witnesses said five of the dead were from a single family.

An official Syrian spokesman confirmed the attack, saying eight were killed.

The residents refused to allow their names to be given because they feared they would be harassed by authorities.

The U.S. military in Baghdad had no immediate comment.

The area is near the Iraqi border city of Qaim, which had been a major crossing point for fighters, weapons and money coming into Iraq to fuel the Sunni insurgency.

Iraqi insurgents seized Qaim in April 2005, forcing U.S. Marines to recapture the town the following month in heavy fighting. The area became secure only after Sunni tribes in Anbar turned against al-Qaida in late 2006 and joined forces with the Americans.

Which helicopter was Bush piloting?

Which helicopter was Bush piloting?
None. He tries to avoid combat. He just sends in others.

Before it was "Bush," now it's "we." Are you finally on board in the fight against terrorists?

I guess "we" meant as a nation which is run by Bush and the Dick.

[/quote]First, I admire McCain for actually fighting in a war but that doesn't mean I think his policies are correct(if it is possible to actually understand his policies since they change daily dpending to who he is pandering to that day).

As for Hillary etc. Never said I did. I just don't think the Palin conservative granny look is very hot but each has there opinion of "hot".

Do you think the order to fire came directly from Bush?

Wow, I remember the good old days when the president got his orders from his wife.

Bush had to sign off on it- since its cross border. DoD has confirmed the raid. No biggie... let the Syrians scream.. This raid was as much to take out the safe house as to convey a message to Assad to stop his BS in letting foreign fighters cross the border.

DAMASCUS, Syria (AP) - U.S. military helicopters attacked territory inside Syria close to its border with Iraq Sunday, killing eight people in a strike the Syrian government condemned as "serious aggression."

A U.S. military official said the raid by special forces targeted the foreign fighter network that travels through Syria into Iraq in an area where the Americans have been unable to shut it down because it was out of the military's reach.

"We are taking matters into our own hands," the official told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because of the political sensitivity of cross-border raids.

At this moment the video techs at the DoD Public Affairs Office are editing the video feeds from the Predator Drones showing all the traffic going in and out of the building in time for tomorrow's Press Briefing.

This was a legit target, and probably confirmed by both electronic and human intelligence.

Yeah. I can imagine how they are "editing" the video feeds.
