I think the real question is, does she look hot in the new clothes?

RE: Just a hockey mom?
Hey her old wardrobe consisted of turtlenecks, blue jeans and down jackets. Not something that works in Florida. I suspect that Cindy McCain probably "advised" her while shopping. Oh Sarah, that just won't do. Women can't get away with wearing five different suits. I know my wife won't wear the same evening dress twice to events which MIGHT have the same people. So, women have to have multiple outfits to impress. That's just how it works. Tell your wife she needs an entire new wardrobe and start from zero and see how much she spends in proporation to your salary.

Nope....Voluntary contributions are certainly not socialism. Using the force of government to redistribute wealth is socialistic.

Well she did steal from the oil companies, to give all Alaskans checks.
So I will call her a socialist hypocrite.05-stirthepot

No...It's simple profit sharing in this circumstance...not forced wealth redistribution.
I have no problem with calling any government employee minimally an accessory to larceny since their wages come from the theft of others. I hold no ill will against low level bureaucrats because I understand that they are just trying to make a living...I would prefer though that many of those jobs be handled by the free market and not government coercion.

Another way of looking at this is by asking just what are the candidates supposed to do with the money they raise? I would imagine they'd do what they feel is best for their campaign. There's no doubt that the campaigns hire pollsters, political consultants, experts in the various fields the politicians need to be knowledgeable of, etc. They also spend money on consultants on speaking and proper body language because image is everything - just ask Obama. The campaign obviously thought that Palin's image would be improved by investing a very small percentage of the available money on her appearance. This is no different than buying signs, banners and straw hats that are thrown away as soon as the candidate leaves one town and heads to another. Making Palin look good makes the campaign look good and that's why they spent the money.

If anyone wants to question outrageous spending how much did Obama spend to rent out an entire stadium in Denver for a convention where the outcome was already known? Complete with Greek columns. Does anyone here recall hearing a conservative complain about that? The democrats spent more than $150k on getting the homeless people off Denver's' streets for the week of the convention so the international throng of reporters wouldn't see them.

As a freemarketeer...the only thing I find great about the "election of futility cycles" are that they stimulate the economy with useless spending and create thousands of jobs....Just think about how many people are going to be added to the unemployment roles in 12 days.03-idea03-lmfao

I also read that some of the money went to outfit Todd, and the Palin brood. You don't want the VP candidate's family following her around looking like refugees from a trailer park.

I find it funny that the GOP and Sarah Palin herself, try to make her look like she is one of us, or a hockey mom? Would a regular "Joe Six Pack" spend $150,000 on clothes?

And nice job by the McCain campaign by saying they will donate the clothes to charity after the campaign is over. Don't you just love damage control?

You must have flipped when you heard that Obama's church spent $10,000,000 on Rev. Wright's new house.

BTW Obama's suits cost $1500 each and he gave $800,000 to ACORN.
Obviously Faux news never showed the video of McCain sitting with ACORN. Oops.

Because in Alaska, the oil in the ground is considered the property of the people. Blame the Athabaskans.

So the oil in the ground in my state is mine too? Where's my check?

$1.6 mil for the house and a line of credit of $10,000,000 which he may be able to write checks against.

BTW, the house is over 10,000 square feet and sits in a white nieghborhood. Being an anti-American racist pays well.

No idea why this is such an issue... who cares how much money they spent on her wardrobe? This is a totally sexist issue as far as I'm concerned, as the Obama campaign is trying to get women to be jealous of Palin and get them to switch to Palin.

And, if you really want to discuss a waste of money, how about the $5.3 million spent by Obama on the stage and lighting at Invesco Field at the DNC. That is worse as far as I'm concerned.

Turns out the actual amount spent on her clothes was one third of of the 150k the press spouted.
