I'm a real American that thinks it's fine to burn any damn flag you wish and I'm not a modern liberal.....I guess it's because I know that what freedom and liberty are really about. I think it's tacky and serves no real useful purpose...but...You will not have to worry about me initiating force upon anyone that decides to protest peacefully...regardless of how I personally feel about what they are doing.

You mean McCain was sitting in the living rooms of the people who disrespected the flag? Or maybe he listened to their sermons for 20 years?

If you watch the video in your link you'll see that the guys handling the flag were union workers and probably democrats. For them it would have been easier to burn the flag rather than fold it but one of them probably wanted to put it on eBay.

I think the freedoms of this country should include being able to burn the U.S. flag. I don't know how Americans would get to the point where they would want to do that, but it shouldn't be illegal.
