I didn't want to post this on the other board. I've talked to my cousin the other day who is a bball scout and he is familar with the Philly area. Sounds like Terry is connected. But some of his connections are runners. Not to say he will do anything wrong. Terry is associated with David Anwar and Darryl Schofield who are well known in the Philly area. Anwar and Schofield started Philadelphia Lutheran Christian Academy in Philly. They are one of the prep school that the NCAA has cracked down on. Anwar has been working with Doc Sadler a while, ever since Sadler was at UA Ft. Smith. Anwar is now his head assistant at Nebraska.

With Terry on staff, it sounds like Shields is being open to recruiting risky kids, which I think alot of folks on the other board have been saying he didn't do in the past. I guess Shields know he has to win to either keep his job or move up in the coaching level to a BCS school.

BTW, our commitment Ervin Spuriel played AAU ball with Tyreke Evans. Evans was one of the top prep players last year who signed with Memphis.

I'm sure Terry has a list of players in the east coast that will be graduating high/prep school the next few seasons which he has an inside connection to get them to sign. We may not get the cream this season, but that's how it works. People want to get a feel of the head coach they will deal with. However, like Slatton indicated it won't take long for us to land someone big time if he is here longer than one season.

I do hope we keep things under control though, which Shields has shown he does keep good tabs on his players academics and whereabouts.

I think that Jeff is right, we will sign someone that has no business coming to lr at some point.

I will post later today about playing time and next on this board. I didn't think it was right of me to post of my thoughts on the other board because parents and the kids read it.

We are starting to recruit right over the top of the players that are on the team. We have used the spots that Dre and Kiki had and filled them with better players jackson and burton. Both big improvements over them
